I was looking for a place to have lunch and chanced upon this Japanese restaurant.
I flipped through the menu and was pleasantly surprised to see that they served many other kinds of Japanese food, including soba and rice dishes. Many types of sides available too.
I decided on a uniquely topped dish, the Charcoal Grilled Beef Ramen. Rarely see such a dish in a Japanese ramen shop so I ordered it, along with an octopus dish.
Both were served after about 10 minutes. The food was good! The beef was generally tender and cooked well but I would had preferred it with more flavour and smoke but it was still ok. The soup was tasty but not overwhelmingly salty. It had depth and complexity so it was also worth finishing up, which I did. The egg was also beautifully cooked!
The octopus was of the deep fried type, and it came with some salad, a slice of lemon and mayonnaise. Didn't disappoint as a side dish. Will go well with beer for those who like to drink!
The restaurant was quite empty though as I ate at about 4pm or so. Service was friendly and everyone seemed happy to be working here.
I'll be back when I am in this area the next time. I had a good...
Read moreWe eat here mostly when we go to Docklands, which is often as we have liked the food. Service is slow for food when its busy as it seems to be made to order which is great. Its self service where you do have to go to the counter with a pad paper and order. There is a 10% discount for cash payment or a 1% surcharge for card- go figure. Food is great and we mostly get the crumbed pork pieces either ramen or dry. Plus a few other things we have tried. The only reason for the low rating is the scarce service and the having to pay 20 cents for a takeaway container. I mean if we pay $60+ each time we eat here surely they can afford 20c for a container. Also off putting to sit in the table close to the back where you can view the trolley of dirty dishes and the staff put stuff down in full view and then straight go to freshly made meals without so much a...
Read moreI'm not an expert in Ramen apart from looking anime characters eating them like slurp slurppp. 😂. It was one of my first experience. Not very common from where I come from. The place was not packed. It was during weekday. The personnel were kind and helpful. Honestly I was so hungry and longing to taste the ramen I didn't even mind them. We had to wait 15-20 min for 5 plates which is correct. They have an open restaurant which is also nice. The place is clear and the decor is in phase with the menu. Now the ramens, everything was good, and i was able to taste from the other bowls. A little salty maybe but it was worth it. The broth was succulent. The portions are big . The noodles were perfect. The different meat were tasty. No complaints at all. Prices is above average ( my average 😅 being a tourist is expensive...
