From the moment I walked into Glazed today I knew I was in for a great experience. The staff including Liran, the chef and his lovely partner Joanne were welcoming, hospitable and eager to please. I was treated to samples of various products making it difficult to choose from their variety of options. I chose the apple turnover and it was hard to believe the pastry was gluten free as it was flaky and delicious with the right amount of crispness. I also bought a blueberry white chocolate muffin and I have never had a gluten free muffin so moist that didnāt fall apart when you ate it. It was amazing. The French baguette and plain bread loaf were soft on the inside with a lovely crust and tasted like what I remember normal bread tasted like, maybe better. The bagel looked like a normal bagel and felt a lot softer and lighter than the usual brick-like gluten free ones you get in the supermarket. I am yet to eat the bagel (breakfast tomorrow) but am really keen to try it and Iām sure it wonāt disappoint. Lastly, I bought the tiramisu but I had to pace myself so that is yet to be tasted but it looks beautiful. Overall, I would have to say Glazed is now my āgo toā for excellent gluten free bread and pastries, the quality is exceptional. Itās a shame I live on the other side of Melbourne but I would definitely make the trip to stock up on fabulous...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmazing. Hands down the best gluten free bread and pastries. One bite of the bagel and I was crying happy tears (seriously) - itās been 16 years since Iāve eaten a ānormalā bagel and the Glazed GF bagel was spot on - chewy and dense and delicious. I visited again 2 days later to sit down for brunch (great experience) and left with an enormous bag of goodies. The mushroom and potato pastry was a delight- the pastry was flaky and light. The filo covering the cheese and spinach pastry had perfect light layers. The Glaze signature Krembo was really yummy - I had the lemon meringue. My family enjoyed pizza slices and vegan sausage rolls; as well as a lemon gateau, and pyramid chocolate mousse. The Turkish bread tasted just like it should and the texture was perfect. No dry or soggy gf bread here. My apple turnover didnāt disappoint and while I started today with 2 slices of multigrain bread smothered in butter, Iām about to tuck into hotdog rolls. The cafe has a great atmosphere with comfy furniture. And the staffā¦. really lovely and helpful (and amazingly kind to a crazy coeliac crying over a bagel). I canāt wait to visit again to try the olive bread. Donāt walk, run⦠to get yourself incredible gf food. You...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn the 5 years I have been gluten free I have never been to such an amazingly friendly place that caters to gluten free. Not only that, everything is made beautifully and there is no such thing as dense bread here! Everything is light, fluffy and soft the way bread should be.
They make amazing coffee as well! I canāt wait to continue coming back for loads of bread. I bought an olive loaf (never in my life have I encountered a gluten free olive loaf, it felt like Christmas) and I forget the name, but they have a Friday special that they bake, a beautiful sweet loaf of bread, recommended for French toast which I am so excited to try out!
I cannot recommend them enough, I was so overwhelmed by the freedom to choose anything in sight, it was truly a tear worthy moment to feel that freedom again.
Thank you to the amazing staff there for being so lovely! After finding out I had never been to a dedicated gluten free place before they were so excited to give me samples and show off how great their breads truly are.
Definitely visit them if you are coeliac/ gluten free.
They also offer pre order options so you can collect your bread all...
