Allow me to preface this review with an acknowledgment of Schintz’s undeniable culinary prowess. The food is, in a word, amazing. The fries, in particular, are a gastronomic marvel—a harmonious symphony of texture and flavor that tantalizes the taste buds and elevates the humble potato to an art form. However, the brilliance of your cuisine is marred by a glaring deficiency: your inexplicable and profoundly illogical stance on water.
Water, dear Schintz, is not merely a beverage. It is the fundamental building block of life, an essential resource that even the most rudimentary establishments manage to provide without issue. Yet, astonishingly, your establishment, which excels in crafting fries that could bring a tear to the eye of a hardened gourmand, fails at the simple task of quenching a customer’s thirst.
When I politely requested a glass of tap water, I was informed that such a request was not accommodated. Let me emphasize this: you are unwilling to pour the most abundant and accessible liquid on this planet into a vessel for a paying customer. The audacity! Even when I offered my personal bottle for a refill (a perfectly reasonable compromise): I was denied with a curt explanation that "we don’t give tap water to customers".
Instead, I was directed to purchase bottled water, priced at a level that, based on my calculations, exceeds the production cost of the bottle itself. Your strategy here is transparent: profit maximization under the guise of exclusivity. But, pray tell, how much revenue can you possibly generate by denying basic hydration to your patrons, many of whom have already paid handsomely for your admittedly exquisite food?
The solution to this problem is neither costly nor complex. A mere 20 glass bottles, strategically filled with tap water, could address this issue entirely. Perhaps you fear that the provision of complimentary water might detract from your bottled water sales? If so, let me assure you, no rational consumer will equate free tap water with the indulgence of purchasing bottled water. Your refusal, therefore, serves no practical purpose other than to alienate an otherwise delighted customer base.
In conclusion, Schintz, you have achieved greatness in the culinary arts, but your policies on water distribution are as dry as the Sahara. Your fries may be world-class, but your customer service ethos leaves much to be desired. You could be the perfect dining destination, but until you address this glaring oversight, you remain a star short of excellence.
To paraphrase Isaac Newton (because I doubt you’d take water advice from me): “What goes up must come down.” In this case, my enthusiasm for your fries plummeted the moment my water...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at your schnitz at glenferrie road Hawthorn. on Monday date 15/May/2023 around 9 pm While I was waiting for my 3 veggie wraps . I observed that one of your employee placed my food directly on the shelf while she was preparing my wraps . When I requested that my food not be placed on the shelf, the another girl who was taking order from customers she jumped in between the conversation , instead of saying other girl to use paper on shelf before preparing food , she was dismissive, and became argumentative that the shelf was sanitized.
I was shocked and upset by this response, as it is not only unhygienic to place food directly on a shelf, but also disrespectful to ignore a customer's request. When I said third time that “No I will not eat this food”. then they put paper on shelf and made another wrap with out any sorry or apology. How lazy they are that they can’t put paper on shelf before preparing the food and both girls were staring at me whether I am Noticing and watching them.
Furthermore, as she said we use sanitizer on shelf every day. I am very concerned about the use of sanitizer in food preparation area as it is a harmful to human health because it is a chemical . I wanted to ask her that time who were arguing with me , that Do you prepare your food at home like this way? Do you put your food directly on shelf ? I also observed that she did not change her gloves and used the same gloves to handle my food that she used to handle other items and take orders. She took order from other customers . Touched every where by doing other things and straight away she started wrapping My food,This is a serious issue, as it can lead to cross-contamination and increase the risk of foodborne illness.
I value the quality of service and I hope that this issue can be addressed to ensure that it does not happen again in the future. I suggest that you train your employees on proper food handling procedures and customer service etiquettes.
I visited many schnitz restaurants but never had issue like this with staff or food. I hope that you take my feedback seriously and take appropriate measures to ensure that such incidents do not occur again. I look forward to hearing back from you about how you plan to...
