I have been to several Guzman y Gomez stores and had no complaints. I always knew what to expect. It is. Mexican fast food, so I went there when I didn’t have time to dine at a proper restaurant. Acceptable size, flavour fir the price. Tonight was my third night at the Toorak Ross store. It was very disappointing. As I mentioned this is our third time to drive from Docklands so we can have done quick Mexican and go to the chocolatier few doors down to buy some chocolates or have some hot beverage. This time we ordered three burrito bowls, two with guacamole and one without. We received two burrito bowls and a wrap brought to us by this short haired staff member with a little tatto on her left arm. I said I ordered a bowl, but that’s ok. I was going to have it anyway. My partners didn’t hear me say it, so when she saw it she said oh, he orders a bowl, so this girl looks at her with a slight hostile look and tells her well it will take a long time if we are going to change it. Now as I had mentioned above, we had been to these places on multiple occasions and we know it doesn’t take that long especially when they were not busy. This attitude made me return the wrap and says, I would like what I had ordered simply because of her attitude. As we wait my partner and her sister realised they didn’t get the guacamole they had paid extra for, so I went to the counter and asked the very same girl for guacamole and showed her the receipt with guacamole clearly written and charged some $4:50 or so. She tells me that the guacamole was already in the bowls. I was hundred percent sure that there wasn’t guacamole in any of the bowls, but she repeats that the had put the guacamole there, so I asked her to show me and took her to where we were seating. She sees there was none and offered no apologies, went bad brought sine guacamole in one container whacks it in the table and walks back and a couple of minutes later she brings a bowl almost hakf the usual size. I really didn’t care about this, I only thought to myself what type of an imbecile did they hire. She clearly had no people skills. Read moreI used to work here 4 years ago and I can confidently say that they quality of food and staff has gone down. A couple of weeks ago I ordered a veggie bowl and it had chicken sitting on top of the bowl and chicken sauce all over the top. The staff are like deers in the headlights and don’t know what is happening around them. It takes them at least 3 minutes to notice someone waiting to order. I don’t understand the point of some of the staff having their backs turned when making the food. I understand that they have heaps of orders but it should be the people that are looking out to the restaurant on the other side of the line or the shift manger to notice the people waiting. When I worked there we only used one side of the line to keep an eye out for people and could keep up with the amount of orders that they have today just on one side of the bench. There is one lovely guy with brown curly hair that is quite tall and wears his cap backwards that is super nice and helpful when ordering, I’ve noticed though that he will be the only one taking peoples orders while others ignore. Read moreI’m absolutely fed up with the way GYG South Yarra treats delivery drivers. This is by far one of the worst locations I’ve ever dealt with. Every single time I come here, I’m left waiting 10 to 20 minutes at the back door — and not once has anyone had the decency to even say a word. The crew literally sees you standing there, stares at you, then just walks off like you’re invisible. No greeting, no communication, nothing. It’s disgusting.
What kind of operation are you running where the staff think it’s okay to treat drivers like garbage? It’s happened multiple times — not once, not twice, but over and over again. And the worst part? We’re forced to cancel the orders after wasting all that time, and our ratings on DoorDash drop because of YOUR crew’s laziness and disrespect.
