I've always been a loyal customer of Haoziwei Restaurant, but this takeout experience really disappointed me. Firstly, I went to the store to place and pick up my order. When I got home and unpacked it, I found out they hadn't included the Kung Pao Chicken. I called the store, and they were proactive in handling the issue, agreeing to refund me the next time I visit, which I appreciated as good customer service. However, when I opened the rest of the takeout, I was shocked. The portions were incredibly small, and the quality was far inferior to dine-in.
Sichuan Boiled Fish: The fish slices were only half of what you get when dining in, and even the bean sprouts at the bottom were very few.
Pickled Pepper Pork Kidney: There were only four whole slices of pork kidney—yes, just four! The rest were small bits, and the portion was so small that it felt like I was mostly eating side ingredients and peppers.
Dry Pot Cabbage: This dish was relatively normal in terms of portion and quality.
Brown Sugar Rice Cake: This order had ten pieces as usual, with no reduction in quantity or change in taste, so no issues here.
Large Portion of Rice: This was a full serving with no issues.

Read moreThis is my second time dining in this restaurant. We ordered three dishes, it took us about 20 minutes to get all our dishes one the table. The Sichuan style Dan Dan noodles were amazing, which reminded me of my hometown. It used simple but authentic ingredients to bring out the sweetness of the broth. The noodles were a bit al dente, I loved the textures so much. However, the Sliced Beef and Ox Tongue in Chilli Sauce was flavourful, but quite salty and watery. There was definitely some room for improvement in the Sichuan red chill oil. The stir fry spicy rabbit with green pepper had too much Sichuan pepper corns, which overpowered the flavours of the rabbit. The extreme amount of Sichuan pepper corns also made it annoying to eat the dish as I got Sichuan pepper corns almost every bite. They also used too much oil...

And then, they said their lease is finished. The landlord didn’t extend their contract.

Now, all in a sudden, they have re-opened their shop, with whole new team of management. Brand new chairs and tables.
However, their taste has changed, and no longer that tasty. Unfortunately, They have become an average to go restaurant.
If there’s anyone who know where the old owner is, I would really want to...
