Amazing Thai dessert shop in the heart of CBD! This is my fourth visit within 4 weeks!! Hehehe!! My latest visit I ordered the following:
𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐓𝐞𝐚 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐮 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐮 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐭 & 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐈𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐓𝐞𝐚
My absolute favourites (I ordered the last 3 times as well) are the Thai tea bingsu and the coconut & pandan kaya shokupan. Both are incredibly delicious and super addictive!
Authentic, aromatic & strong is how I describe the Thai tea flavour of the bigsu. Super loaded with Thai tea elements including Thai tea sauce, Thai tea ice cream and The Thai tea shaved ice ^_^
Bursting with delicious aromatic flavours and every bite you take you just want to eat more of it – yes, addictive is the coconut & pandan kaya shokupan. The thick Japanese milk bread is light, fluffy and perfectly brulee toasted. The pandan kaya is soo soo delicious paired with the yummy, salted coconut sauce, ice cream & coconut meat!
The new mango sticky rice bingsu is a creative twist to the traditional Thai mango sticky rice but for me it’s not quite there with the flavour elements. The mango pieces are quite heavy which makes the bingsu melt fast so you’re pretty having a liquid drink. I’ve had this dessert twice and I really think the mango pieces, and mango puree should be completely separate to the bingsu. The warm Thai coconut sticky rice is really yum. Pour a bit of coconut milk and add some of the mango pieces and you’ve got the flavour you’re after.
Their Iced Thai Tea and Honey Lime Iced Thai Tea are my absolute favourite drinks to order here!
Pro tip: place a bit of everything onto a spoon to enjoy all the different elements & flavours together at the same time. This will give you a much better experience rather than just a heapful of bingsu or a bite size of fluffy toast with...
Read moreHomm Dessert on La Trobe Street beckons with the cosy glow of filament bulbs and the sweet perfume of caramelising butter that rolls out through the doorway. Step inside and you find a narrow, two tier space lined with terrazzo tables, soft neutral timber and a counter that displays glossy pastries under glass cloches like little works of art. The soundtrack is low key K‑pop, nothing intrusive, just enough to fill pauses while you decide between souffle pancakes, croffles or a towering bowl of mango bingsu.
House specials are cooked to order, so patience is rewarded. The souffle pancakes arrive gently quivering, dusted with icing sugar and topped with a scoop of vanilla gelato that melts into the maple pool at the base. A matcha option swaps syrup for a smooth green tea sauce that cuts the sweetness. Croffles land crisp on the outside yet still buttery inside, stacked with berries and a drizzle of condensed milk. If you want something cooler, the mango bingsu hides layers of condensed milk snow beneath cubes of fresh fruit and a swirl of cream, big enough to share. Drinks range from nutty hojicha lattes to a vivid butterfly pea lemonade that changes colour as you stir.
Staff balance speed with warmth, checking allergies, offering extra spoons for sharing and topping up water without being asked. Orders arrive in staggered waves so nothing sits wilting and you never feel rushed to vacate your table. Prices align with specialty dessert cafés in the CBD yet the portion sizes are generous and the care in presentation is obvious. Whether you need a mid‑afternoon sugar lift or a late night treat after a movie, Homm delivers indulgence with just the right touch of theatre and leaves you planning your next visit before the last...

REVIEW: The Shokupan is a sugary dream/nightmare. The generous amount of butter from the toast marinates in your mouth, the sweetness and refreshing taste of the coconut & pandan kaya makes it a flavourful treat.
I'm dooooooooomed. ORDERED (2024): 🍨 Thai tea bingsu: Thai tea based snowflakes, whipped cheese, fresh baked crumble, sugar syrup grass jelly, homemade Thai tea sauce. Served with Thai tea ice cream ($26.80)
I paid $15.67 for my portion here, because we split the bingus between two!
REVIEW: ☺ My friend has gone here a couple of times, so he got me to try it without the baked crumble (he put it in the notes section of the app to remove), and I enjoyed it!
❤ It's incredibly fragrant. The bingsu has a sweet, creamy and spiced notes to create an addictive taste that has that quintessential thai milk tea flavour. I'm not a fan of cheese and greatly appreciated how the whipped cheese flavour wasn't noticeable at all! Grass jelly added some fun and much needed texture, while the thai tea sauce (and condensed milk) added a fun interactive element to the dish. ✔ The presentation is so fun, reminding me of the pull up cakes where the icing flows to the rest of the cake once you pull off the plastic sleeve.
😲 Although the line was long, our wait around the corner was around 30 minutes. They have both an upstairs and downstairs area, so the turnover is relatively fast enough! ❌ I will say though, the self serve water has the SMALLEST disposable cups I've ever seen. You would probably need two to get by, creating...
