Don’t take it as rude, this is what efficient looks like. If you’re after service don’t bother coming here, these guys are good at one thing and one thing only. Chinese roasts, their duck, soy sauce chicken and crispy roast pork is their star attraction. Unfortunately since COVID they have lost their chef so there’s not more sit down Chinese banquet like they use to. All they have are plate ls of roast meats on either a choice of rice or egg noodles as a sit down menu. That limitation didn’t bother us as we want meat with the rice, so we ordered their holy trinity with both rice and egg noodles, also ordered a dish of roast pork on its own. There were bok choi that came with all the rice/noodle dishes, it came within minutes to our table and the what came on a dish down went into our bellies with almost complete silence. The soy sauce chicken is mellow and subtle though the chicken flavour is not lost, the meat is still tender. The duck is flavourful, almost too flavourful that anything else will be tasteless. The roast pork had a thicker layer of fat than usual but that’s where the flavour is! This is the OG store for HK bbq roast, don’t mind the straight talk from the aunties, remain focus on their food and you’ll have a good experience.

1. No menu available so if you dont speak Chinese you're kind of screwed and you dont know how much everything costs 2. If you're Asian and dont speak Chinese the angry auntie will roll her eyes at you 3. Cleaning equipments proudly on display near the dining tables 5. Tea bottles are disgusting and have dark stains where the tea is poured 6. The entire premise is covered in a layer of grease inc. Floor, table, chairs 7. They dont accept cards. They do PayID though. 8. When they give u change in cash the auntie insists on placing coins on the tray in the hope that the customer will leave the coins behind as a tip. This is even when I offered out my hand to receive the cash changes from her. 9. The food is aright

I recently ordered a takeaway of BBQ pork and roast pork combination rice for $16.00, but when I got home, I realised that most of the crispy skin on the roast pork was missing. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened, and it’s frustrating to feel like they might be trying to get away with cutting corners. The BBQ pork was decent, but without the crispy skin, the meal wasn’t as satisfying as it should have been. The quality of the food has been going downhill lately, which is really disappointing because it used to be great. I hope they address these issues soon before they lose more loyal customers.

Best HK bbq I had in Melbourne. But...

The old lady serving us was so rude and unhelpful it spoiled my lunch there. The young one was friendly though. It started when we waited to be seated, as no one attended and thats after standing 2 minutes in front of the counter(with a pram with 2 kids on it), we decided to go to an empty table but only then she shouted in her own language and acknowledged us to move us to the next one (the restaurant was almost empty with 2 different tables occupied) weird... Then we asked for a high chair and even tough I can take no as an answer, the way she mumbled something in her own language after saying a sharp no isn't a way to treat your customer. Then ordering food, Q:where is the menu ? A: there is no menu, only bbq, ok then why is it your asian customers that sitted just after got some noodles and stuff that aren't only bbq ? Then came the time to pay, "no card only cash !", I then headed outside to go to the nearest atm and the lady again started shouting as if we were thieves (family of 4 including 2 young children), and I shouted back that I need to go to the atm to pay her, only then she offered to pay via bank transfer... Why not offering this as an alternative in the first place ? Overall a very complicated interaction that made us feel we weren't welcome at all and basically trying to make problems instead of solving them, wich is hospitality 101... Im a very easy customer especially after being positively surprised by the food. Unfortunately I do not want to give my money to people who seems to treat you badly at best for no reason or their mood or is it because of the worst assumption (racism ?), and will never come back. Honorable mention: the place is a mess with half the dining floor used as storage and place is quite filthy, if you can't overcome that and the rude lady it's probably best...
