Kampot Kitchen brings authentic Cambodian-style home cooking to the suburb of Preston. Everything is made from scratch and they make their food fresh to order. I loved walking into this casual eatery on a Sunday morning and seeing friendly Cambodian aunties in the kitchen which reassured me that I was going to be fed well. Their numpang (baguette) is their signature food - think a Cambodian-style Banh Mi. Besides their baguettes they also have skewers, stews, and other sides like wings and chips. The ladies who work here are some of the friendliest I’ve met, I think even if I wasn’t their only customer that morning they still would’ve striked up a conversation like they did. They epitomised warmth. I opted for their most popular option which ended up being a huge winner. The bread was fresh and flakey but didn’t make a mess and didn’t cut the roof of your mouth. The chicken was incredibly tender and juicy and had a balanced aromatic lemongrass flavour to it. The coriander added the perfect sharpness to cut through the nuttiness of the rest of the roll. Even though there was a generous amount of filling, there was little to no drippage which I appreciated as someone who hates messy meals. I also appreciated that although I was so full, it left me feeling good! It wasn’t heavy but still satisfied my hunger. I highly recommend getting a fresh coconut to drink, it’s so refreshing and the sweetness is a perfect accompaniment to the savoury roll. Plus it’s a great way to cool down in the upcoming heat 🥵 My only regret about my visit is that I didn’t come sooner. I don’t know how I’ll eat a regular banh mi ever again after having this version. What a beautiful establishment with caring staff and a great story behind it. I cannot wait to keep supporting them to try more of their menu, I’m sure it will be as amazing as this was.

I had the pleasure of dining at Kampot Kitchen today, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. I tried their signature Pork Belly Num Pang, which was a perfect balance of tender pork and fresh ingredients, bringing to life the vibrant flavors of Cambodia in every bite. The Grilled Beef Skewers served as an open sandwich were a true masterpiece - the succulent beef combined with the light and delicious accompaniments created a harmonious symphony of tastes that lingered on my palate. What truly sets Kampot Kitchen apart is its dedication to showcasing the authentic flavors of Cambodia. In a market filled with an abundance of baguetteries and cafes, it's refreshing to find a place that stands out by focusing on a niche that is often overlooked. Kampot Kitchen is a serious contender, offering a lovely change from the usual Indochinese dishes that dominate the scene. The attention to detail and commitment to bringing Cambodian cuisine to the forefront is truly commendable. The afternoon spent at Kampot Kitchen was nothing short of wonderful. The ambiance, the attentive service, and the exquisite food made for a memorable dining experience. If you're seeking a taste of Cambodia's culinary wonders and are looking for a unique and refreshing dining option, Kampot Kitchen should definitely be on your list. It's a gem that shines brightly in the crowded culinary landscape.

We have lived 5 mins away from Kampot Kitchen since moving to Melbourne 9 months ago, but have never been - our first visit today was spontaneous but we are so glad we did. Kampot Kitchen exceeded our expectations , from incredible service to delicious food and drinks, we are honestly so happy to have found such an amazing new local place to support. We ordered a pork belly baguette to share between the two of us as we were not super hungry, plus an oat chai latte + oat hot chocolate. Two things to take note - 1. We loved the baguette so much, we ordered another one on Uber eats 20 mins after we got home because we were suddenly hungrier but too lazy to leave the house again.. that’s how delicious it was. 2. The best chai latte (plus cutest cups!!) we’ve had in Melbourne so far, (which we are SO thankful for because we’re both recently retired baristas and only liked our own chai 😂) and the service was incredible from both the lovely woman who served us at the til and the barista. Thanks so much guys - we will honestly be back again (probably tomorrow) Can’t wait!

Easily the best place for a coffee and lunch in Preston.

We are so lucky to live around the corner.

The most incredible traditional Cambodian food and drinks - so different and refreshing from the overrated , typical menus you see at a majority of cafes now days.

If you’re looking for fresh, hearty and flavoursome meals, Kampot Kitchen has you covered. We have never had a baguette (Cambodian style Banh Mi) as fresh and tasty as the ones here. We have tried almost all of their flavour varieties and cannot pick a favourite.

Their beef stew is like none other - perfect for the colder days. We often order from Uber if we cannot make it in store.

Their new rice dishes are a taste of home and just what we need on high street! I love their variety of meat, to vegetarian to a mix of both. Their tofu is marinated to perfection, as is their lemongrass chicken & .. don’t even get my started on their Kampot pepper steak.

Kampot is extremely well priced, the service is absolutely incredible & Sarann goes out of her way every single time we visit to make sure we have the greatest experience.

So glad to live so close because this is 100% our cafe /...
