Little Henri — Restaurant in Melbourne

We had the most incredible wedding at Little Henri in Thornbury, and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue. The combination of lush greenery in the courtyard and the vintage charm inside made it the perfect setting for our special day. Samira, the events manager, was an absolute gem—reliable, organised, and made everything run smoothly.

For our ceremony, we opted to say our vows in front of the French doors, and it was absolutely stunning, especially with the perfect weather we had. The only minor thing to keep in mind if you choose this spot is the logistics of the bride’s entrance. There’s no designated waiting area for the bride other than the car, so it can be a little tricky to coordinate. Also, guests who arrive very close to the start time will be directed to enter via the back gate to allow the staff time to put up a curtain behind the French doors.

We had the cocktail food option and added a grazing table, the food was fantastic! There was a slight hiccup with a few guests missing out on some of the food trays—perhaps due to staffing or where the guests were situated at the venue —but this didn’t overshadow the overall excellent experience. The venue was also very accommodating with dietary restrictions, which we really appreciated. The outdoor courtyard was also very beautiful with fairylights in the late evening.

Overall, we’re so happy we chose Little Henri. It offered everything we wanted in a wedding venue—charming, flexible, and with options in case the Melbourne weather didn’t cooperate. It was the perfect size for our celebration and offered a unique,...

Have been here many many times over the years, however, i feel that this one incident has just completely wiped all the good experiences off the board. I had two mimosas ($10 each and the Reuben $25). Got to the counter with my group to pay my part which should have been $45. Gave the gentleman behind the bar $50 to which I was given no change. When I questioned said gentleman, I was told the Reuben is actually $26.50. Ok so, not only am I being charged a price that's not on the menu, but I should still be getting change. When I questioned it again he laughed and mumbled something. I was already so annoyed that I just took the loss and walked out.

I have double checked the menu online and the Reuben is not listed. It is now called a Turkish roll (with different ingredients) which is being charged at $26.

So given the menus instore are clearly not updated I do not think it's very good business practice to charge whatever price is on the new menu without at the very least explaining that or apologising. Neither one I received.

Even with my sandwich being 26 dollars, why did I still not receive the remainder of my change? There's a Sunday surcharge, sure, but A. I paid cash and B. The surcharge should apply to the entire bill not just my meal. I feel cheated and deeply...

My husband and I got married at Little Henri on 13/08/22 and can not fault a thing! The event manager Samira had it all covered every step of the way, from planning to execution on the night. She was available through email, Zoom and in person any time we had questions, and was happy to chat with vendors when they had questions that we struggled to answer ourselves. Our florist was able to install some truly epic installations to frame the already aesthetically pleasing arched doors, and the ceremony was cosy and intimate in the courtyard. Because of the steps rising up the back, it felt like we were being embraced from all angles by everyone we love. The overall space was a great fit for our 80-ish guests, the dance floor was a total hit and the spill-over space into the courtyard was well utilised (even in winter thanks to the heaters!). Everything ran so smoothly that we were able to completely relax and enjoy the evening with our friends, family and 3-piece live band. I particularly appreciated the care from Samira and her staff on the night, one of the waitresses was always making sure that I ate when food was the last thing on my mind!
