I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kan Eang, and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time! The highlight of my visit was the Fried Spicy Chicken Spare Ribs—quite possibly the best dish I've ever tasted.
These chicken spare ribs are a culinary masterpiece. They are perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly tender on the inside, with just the right amount of spice to give them a delicious kick. The flavors were perfectly balanced, making every bite a burst of savory, spicy goodness. If you're a fan of flavorful and spicy dishes, you absolutely need to try these spare ribs—they're worth the visit alone.
I also tried the Kan Eang Thai Fried Rice and the Pad Thai, both of which were exceptional. The Thai Fried Rice was perfectly cooked, with each grain of rice packed with savory flavors and complemented by fresh ingredients. The Pad Thai was equally delightful, with a perfect blend of sweetness, tang, and a slight hint of spice. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the dish was generously garnished with crunchy peanuts and fresh bean sprouts.
The service at Kan Eang was top-notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made sure everything was perfect and even offered some great recommendations.
The ambiance at Kan Eang is warm and inviting, with a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The decor is charming and adds to the overall experience, creating a perfect setting for a relaxing meal with friends or family.
In conclusion, Kan Eang is a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Thai cuisine. The Fried Spicy Chicken Spare Ribs are an absolute standout, but the entire dining experience—from the delicious Thai Fried Rice and Pad Thai to the excellent service and welcoming ambiance—makes this restaurant truly special. I can't wait to come back and try more...
Read moreWe recently dined at Kan Eang Thai in Melbourne, and their $59 Winter 'Feed Me' menu left us thoroughly impressed. Set in a vibrant and welcoming space that boasts colorful decor and a lively atmosphere, this restaurant offers a fresh take on traditional Thai cuisine.
Our culinary journey began with Chicken Panang Curry on brioche toast, a creative dish that masterfully balanced the rich flavors of curry with the sweetness of brioche. Following that, the Pomelo Salad With Prawns delivered a zesty punch, thanks to its spicy Thai lemon dressing. The Northern Thai Larb Beef Skewer was also a hit, packed with authentic, bold flavors that were true to its roots.
The main dishes kept up the momentum. The Stir Fry Chinese Broccoli was crisp and well-seasoned, showcasing the natural flavors of the vegetables. The Angry Beef Stir Fry was the standout, though—despite its name, it brought smiles all around with its perfectly stewed beef in a tantalizing curry paste that provided just the right amount of spice.
Opting for individual cocktails instead of the bottomless selection, we were delighted by our choices. The 'You're One in a Melon' cocktail, blending Midori Melon with vodka and fresh cucumber, was incredibly refreshing. The 'Phuket Margarita', with its mix of Tequila Blanco, pink grapefruit juice, and Himalayan pink salt, added a tropical twist to our meal.
The staff at Kan Eang Thai were as vibrant as the decor—friendly, attentive, and passionate about their offerings. Their enthusiasm for Thai cuisine added a personal touch to our experience that made the meal even more enjoyable.
Kan Eang Thai is more than just a place to eat; it's an experience that combines great food with a warm, inviting atmosphere. For anyone in Melbourne looking for a distinctive Thai meal that's executed with both skill and passion, this place is definitely...
Read moreWe ordered several dishes during our visit and found the food overall to be delicious, but the experience was let down by extremely slow service.
🔸Chicken Ribs (OG and tom yum flavor) Big portion and very tasty. I personally preferred the OG flavor over the tom yum, though I believe adding more tom yum powder would bring that flavor up to par with the original. Would definitely recommend this dish.
🔸Grilled King Prawn Pad Thai The pad thai was decent, possibly delicious when freshly served, but by the time I got to eat it, it had cooled down quite a bit. I was waiting for my husband’s dish to arrive so we could eat together. I really enjoyed the crispy omelette topping—such a great touch!
🔸Truffle Fried Rice with Bone Tallow This took almost an hour to arrive. On its own, the fried rice was acceptable, but it tasted much better when eaten with the bone tallow. The long wait was frustrating, though we appreciated that the restaurant eventually offered it free of charge due to the delay.
What let the experience down: There was a huge gap between dishes—my pad thai came out about 20 minutes before my husband’s fried rice, which made it hard for us to enjoy our food together. I asked the staff about the missing dish multiple times. They initially said they would check, but I had to follow up two more times before finally getting confirmation that it was still being prepared. In total, we waited around 50–60 minutes just to get the fried rice, even though other dishes had already been served. We simply wanted to enjoy our meal together.
We understand that restaurants can get busy, but this level of delay affected our dining experience. The food is good, but service consistency and timing need improvement—especially when customers want to enjoy their...
