It’s a charming little venue with a unique atmosphere — perhaps even iconic when it first began. However, I’ve noticed that the service can feel somewhat dismissive at times, which may be due to the challenges of dealing with intoxicated patrons.

Smokers, in particular, might feel a bit unwelcome. Even with an active tab, being asked to rejoin the entry line after stepping out for a smoke can be frustrating, especially when your drink is left unattended and begins to dilute.

On one occasion, a staff member who had finished their shift sat in the seat where I had my belongings, which felt a little intrusive. Although they later questioned whether it was appropriate, the situation was awkward and could have been avoided with clearer boundaries.

I don’t mind sharing space, but it would be nice if guests stepping out briefly could be allowed quicker re-entry, especially when their personal items and drinks are still inside. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with thoughtfully curated decor that gives the space a unique charm. I particularly enjoyed the comfortable sofas, which made for a relaxing experience; however, they could use a bit of cleaning to maintain their comfort and appeal.

While the overall vibe of the place is pleasant, it could be further elevated with the addition of a nice fragrance throughout the space, adding to the sensory experience. The service at Fifty Five is light and easygoing, with sweet and friendly staff who make you feel welcome.

I'm a bit torn about this place. I like the layout of it and they have decent choice of beers on tap and amazingly well stocked fridge full of interesting craft beers. Problem is this place gets really loud for no reason. When I came last time the place was half empty, music level initially pleasant, really nice place to hangout. Then gradually the DJ who was probably getting bored started to tune the volume up every few minutes to a point where I couldn't even hear my mate sitting next to me. We left shortly after.
