I love this place! The food is always delicious! Service is fast and they are very accommodating (we like to keep a mentee and continually order dishes to share for a long meal). They also prepare the food in an area visible to patrons, which I like because it comforts me when U feel restaurants have nothing to hide :) There is a good variety of foods on the menu. The restaurant is target small and cosy, but this means it can get quite full, especially on a Friday night. That being said, we usually go without a booking and don't have much trouble getting a table for between 2-5 people). I believe we have sometimes been told that we need to wait for 10-15 min or so, which had never been problem for us as we just have still down chapel Street. There are steps up into the restaurant, so sadly this venue *may not be wheelchair accessible (however I have never asked, so there may be an alternate entrance or they may have another way to enter the restaurant). From memory (I haven't been since my grandfather passed away as it's been a bit too sad because this was a favourite place to go together) I think there might be some outside seating, but I would certainly call ahead of you need a wheelchair accessible venue. I'm hoping to take my sister's parents in law here next week, so I may be able to update this information afterward. Overall I would recommend this restaurant for small and larger groups. It is appropriate for a family dinner, yet sophisticated enough for a business dinner or date, so basically I recommend it to everyone! Ik forward to...
Read moreIt was my first time experience. I ordered mixed sashimi and sushi.i looked at the staff and they talked Mandarin obviously they are Chinese. The dish came out only having three types of sashimi and the sashimi were cut into very tiny pieces. The mini sushi rolls were mini mini only filled with a small bit of salmon. The dish costs $22 !! I expressed my opinion to the Chinese man. He said it is their way of doing it. I said it again to the woman boss like they should improve their variety of sashimi of that dish when I paid my bill. She answered me back Aussie people only like that 3 types of sashimi . They don't like many varieties. She also argued they have opened for xx years, meaning they have no problem. Portion and variety wise, I thought it's a rip-off !! You can get normal size of sushi rice and more seafood types in mixed sashimi dish in other restaurants even in takeaway shops. Besides, the restaurant with these boss ' unwilling to listen to customer 's opinions and being much ready to argue with customer is not worth high rating. Be a smart money spender Australian! Do not be compromising to giveg high rate to non Japanese-run Japanese...

My wife ordered the "deluxe sushi meal" which ran $23. It consisted of a salmon maki, about the size of a roll of pennies and haphazardly thrown together, and 6 pieces of some of the saddest looking salmon nigiri I've ever seen. That's right, apparently deluxe means you get a roll and 6 pieces of mall grade salmon sushi, they couldn't even bother to add some variety to the plate. It would actually have been cheaper to just buy the nigiri and maki off the a la carte menu. Shameful.
My tepanyaki was only slightly better, and was basically hunks of fatty beef strewn about a ginger syrup that was borderline edible.
Don't bother and save yourself the $50 and eat at one of the street side sushi carts. Or chip in the extra $25 and eat at a proper...
