I would like to commend the owner/manager of La Baguette for reviewing below feedback and taking the feedback seriously. It gave him a chance to provide feedback and train his staff so that they can give efficient service to their customers. My brother also received a part refund for the inconvenience - Thank you for being a great manager and handling the situation in a professional manner. I will be coming back to your cafe in the near future. As a result I have changed my rating of this cafe to a 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I decided to take my family out for lunch for my Dad's birthday. I was really disappointed to say the least! Incredibly poor service from the staff. One staff brought out our order and spilled one plate of food on the table, she didn't even offer to bring a replacement, which I feel should've happened. We ended up picking up the spilled food and put it back on the plate ourselves and ate that. Afterwards, I ordered a Chai tea, from another staff, she took my order, a couple of minutes later she came back to tell me that there was no Chai tea and gave me another type of tea which wasn't my preference... Another male staff member then came to our table as the same girl who brought us our lunch, brought us the tea and spilled that all over the table and on the floor. The male staff helped wiped the table and I advised him that I wanted Chai tea, not the one that I had just been served, he then said ; 'yes' he had Chana Chai tea and went and made me some Chana chai tea. I also asked one girl if I could see the dessert menu and I was told that they had run out of dessert... What kind of cafe is this?! Lunch was pretty average, Chai tea was nice, staff were inadequate and unimpressive. I've never encountered such poor service at any cafés...
Read moreRevisited after an initial great first impression to a less impressive experience. La Baguette used to be a charming bistro that would transport you into a little piece of France somehow while still in Berwick. This facelifted place is double the space yet somehow half the charm. Service is efficient but not warm, Gone is the European fare for something more intercontinental but in a very ungrounded and disjointed sense with little connecting each dish from the other.
The old La Baguette said come to a slice of Paris in Berwick. This new incarnation is just another unremarkable disassociated ubiquitous fare.
Prices are significantly more than the old La Baguette with the saddest bit being that the place named The Baguette doesn't actually carry a baguette offering on the menu.
Lobster rolls are more so macaroon sized lobster buns with about a sixth of the size of a Pinchys actual roll but at two thirds of the price.
The skills of the chef are present but ultimately overpriced and underwhelming with portions.
Berwick's little bit of French charm is no more. This new place is simply okay and...

Its a non working Monday, and after we are back from our Castlemaine/Maldon adventures (yes, I have some reviews on the trip), we head out for brunch, as sleep in later hence no breakfast.
Service & Ambience [3.5]. We have never been here, so wanna try out their food. As we walked into the cafe, there are couple of available tables. We were guided to a table and quickly settled down with menu on hand. We got water and placed our orders. It's a busy day and I noticed the chef prepared the orders quite quickly but not quick enough for the staff on the floor to bring to the diners. Couple of "ding" to remind the staff to pick up the food.
Food [4.5]. We got our coffee first and they tasted and smell good. Food arrived not long after, we pretty much enjoy. The portion could be slightly more for their price.
One suggestion to the owner; perhaps have a divider to shield the disposal of left over food or thrash, as it can be unsightly when diners are enjoying their food and happen to see the staff...
