We ended up at Row Your Boat today after our regular local fish and chip shop was closed and what a mistake that was.
First off, the portion sizes were a joke. “Minimum chips” came out to be about six chips, and the flake was so small it could’ve passed for a fish finger.
But the real issue? The food was stone cold by the time we got it. My partner had called ahead to phone in the order and was told roughly 15-20 minutes. She took a little longer as she was coming from work but had assumed the food would be sitting in a warmer like most other fish and chip shops. Something they don’t tell you when you order is that they have no food warmer. So your food just sits out on the counter, getting cold while they make no effort to keep it fresh.
When my partner called to let them know about the disappointing experience, their response was even worse. Incredibly rude and condescending. Instead of owning the problem, they blamed her for not being “on time”. Their only solution was to offer to recook the food if we brought the cold food back which is completely impractical when you’ve got two hungry young kids at home.
We won’t be back, and I’d strongly suggest others think twice. If you're expecting hot, fresh food and even basic customer service you won’t...
Read moreHad fish and chips on a cold and raining Friday night, the staff were welcoming, brought out a few fresh cooked complimentary thick cut chips and sauce, while waiting for order, this thoughtful act is what service is all about, have been back time and again, always a delight and the quality is never compromised, great selection of fish, cant recommend more highly, at last a great seafood place in Berwick, Alas the quality has declined, went in tonight, sat down for a nice dinner, the people are still as friendly as before, but the food is nothing to write home about, the sword fish was ok, a little over done, the rice and salad that came with the fish was tasteless, no amount of salt and pepper could fix, the dish my wife had was a salad and Whiting, the fish was of frozen stock, rubbery, watery, the salad, eh, tasteless again, could not wait to get out of there, $65 and it was ordinary to say the least, such a far cry from the time I bought fish and chips there, they do get people coming in but for how long, thats a question that will need to...

I parked in an unmarked parking spot out the back of the business. I know to me any many other people. Business owner parked behind my car so I could not leave.
The refused to move the car and left me waiting onwards of 1 hour. I approached the business to ask them to move the car and the daughter began screaming at me for parking there in the first place.
After 2 mins of abuse I raised my voice and the father cake launching at me screaming.
He spat in my face so I left and waited with my son for them to move the car. The daughter proceeded to follow me to abuse me.
I called the police and have made a report for assault.
I suggest signage to clearly identify your private car spots. I also suggest you treat people with respect and free of arrogance, intimidation and harassment A simple mistake could have been dealt with quickly and without drama however the daughter was wanting this. That’s why she parked there and when approached politely she...
