Great food, take away experience has room for improvement.
We decided to try Bodega as we live nearby and had seen a few things pop up on socials which piqued my interest and tbh the offerings in this area are not the best...
I ordered a takeaway order online for 2 during the week at a specific timeslot as dictated online.
Left a specific order note for 2 separate bags as one half of the order I was dropping to my partner for lunch at work.
Instruction was completely ignored and caused issues later on, a disappointing and frustrating experience.
Two quantities of the same side were ordered and it was requested that one portion goes in a separate bag with one sandwich and the rest of the order stay together, this was not followed, furthermore there was only one side in one box, be it what I would describe as a large portion, in the bag, only one of us got to try the side (which apparently was yummo), which was not really good enough...
When collecting the order, I arrived slightly past the pickup time slot and the order was not ready and had to wait close to 15 minutes before leaving, with the delay and all and worried about time (as I had to drop off the lunch to my partner's office with their lunchbreak) I didn't notice at first that the instructions had not been followed and realised minutes later when I was in the car and driving.
The sandwiches were top notch and we both really enjoyed them and would definitely return in future, possibly to dine in.
Definitely happy with the food and how it was prepared.
The takeaway experience on this occasion lacked, more attention to detail by staff when accepting, processing then packaging and handing over the order to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'll be honest i was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. My family and I ubered 2 of the high on canes, 1 animal fries, 1 normal fries and their vodka pasta.
Let me begin by saying the hype around this restaurant is solely based on the fact that its a mimic of raising canes in America -- Im not sure its bc of that, that peoples ability to distinguish between actual tasty food and appropriately priced food is skewed but Its odd.
Anyways, I'll begin by saying the vodka pasta being 30 dollars is completely unreasonable especially due to the serving size which was tiny -- not even established Italian restaurants charge like that and if they do its bc of their knowledge in cuisine and taking into account portions. (I swear when I say it was tiny it was TINY)
The chicken was overly battered and underseassoned. The chips were ok but were stale.
The prices are 100% ridiculous especially for the pasta and the high on canes but then again its not like we're only paying for the food, we're paying for the aesthetic and š¤·āāļø
My experience with bodega was really just not the best. The price doesnt match what they're serving and its sad how much their high ratings are accredited to tiktok hyping it up/ the the fact they're similar to raising canes. Its rly not that good but it might be different with ordering a different dish.
All in all I didn't like the food it wasn't good. I know one could argue that we all have different taste buds but if you're someone that likes chicken that tastes like baking soda then by all means indulge in this delicacy. There rly wasn't flavour.
That was my take from eating here. I hope u dont fall victim to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had high hopes after seeing their food all over Instagram and reading the reviews (which I now believe were probably mostly paid influencers). My partner got the Philly cheese and loved it, and we also shared the loaded hot honey chicken fries, which were really good. But my Italian Hoagie was a huge disappointment.
First off, it came on a dry focaccia roll like what you get at Costco (definitely not what was advertised and definitely not a hoagie) and it was so bland. The filling was lacklustre ā just meat, some lettuce, a couple of tomato slices, and the tiniest bit of buffalo mozzarella. It didnāt taste like much and definitely wasnāt what I was expecting based on the photos online. Looking at their website, Iām pretty sure it was missing half the ingredients that shouldāve been in there too.
Iām shocked that the staff still served the sandwich without being able to fulfill it as advertised. If they had just come to me and said, āHey, weāre out of the usual ingredients for this dish today, would you still like to go ahead or choose something else?ā I wouldāve picked something else. Instead, I ended up with a dry, disappointing sandwich that I couldāve easily made better at home for less money.
Iām glad my partner enjoyed his meal, and he has said heād love to go back but just some feedback for the team: if youāre promoting something, make sure itās the same experience people get in store, otherwise, youāll quickly lose...
