🥑 Smashed Avocado 🇹🇷 Turkish Eggs
Leaps and Bounds (named after the Paul Kelly song) is a new cafe located in the heart of Albert Park, on Bridport St. The cafe has a beautiful baby blue heritage frontage and Scandinavian inspired interior.
The menu is fantastic, with all your classics with a little bit of a glow up. You’ve got your Benny, French Toasts and Granolas, and although the Chilli Scramble was calling my name, we decided to leave those to our next visit. 👀
The Smashed Avo had the addition of feta, pomegranate and charred corn which I would’ve loved to see more of. The Avo itself was fresh and well seasoned, a reliable, satisfying dish. The Turkish Eggs were great, the perfect balance of flavours and the right amount of heat. I loved that it also included some broccolini and that it was served with small slices of Turkish bread. 👏🏽
Good coffee by @inglewoodcoffee, even better loose leaf Chai by @pranachai and I would also recommend the Mango Coconut Smoothie. A few delicious looking snacks in the treats window that caught my eye for on the go. A top option in the area. Read moreSteer clear……Decided to try here for lunch on Sunday and the food was terrible. I ordered the chicken burger. The chicken was overcooked to the point it was dry and was served burnt, the brioche had also been toasted too long and was served with burnt black edges. I also ordered the kids chicken tenderloin strips which were also well overcooked, dry and burnt to the point of being inedible. My coffee order was requested to be extra hot and it was served tepid. The wait staff service was also dreadful with a couldn’t care less attitude and we were waiting for well over 30 minutes for our meals to be served and there were only 4 tables of customers! I would strongly suggest trying other cafes in the village which offer much better service and quality of food and bypassing...
Read moreI want to preface this by saying I have never left a one star review in my life, but we came to leaps and bounds yesterday to get coffees and some food for a roadtrip, and the banana bread they gave us had started to go bad/ferment. I didn’t realize until I had eaten a few bites and have now spent the last 24 hours being ill - which sucks because I’m on holiday from Canada and have now lost a day of my trip.
I should also mention that this is extremely rare for me, I travel extensively and the only other time I have gotten sick like this was 10 years ago in Thailand. The food from leaps and bounds was the only thing I had to eat all day.
The cafe needs to check its food before they serve it to customers!
