Little Belles - by Belles Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Melbourne

It was a recommendation fro a work-mate and I thought of trying this out. I ordered the hot chicken wings. But the heat was just unbalanced heat without any dimension to this dish. Ok, I get the point you want to make this hot and this is not for everyone, but at least try to make the taste of the dish complete and balanced. Just by adding a bunch of super-hot chillies just doesn't do any justice to those juicy chicken pieces. Whoever made this dish shouldn't call himself/herself a chef as obviously he/she doesn't understand any concept of tastes. I wonder how would the other two variants of hot (yes, there're two other levels of hot above the one I ordered) would taste like. Just a waste of money and would never recommend...

It was 7.45pm this evening and due to lack of customers they decided to close. HOWEVER the absolutely lovely and charming lady on the till along with 2 chef's accommodated my moaning and arsy attitude as I wanted to try their wings and know they closed at 8.30pm. They had already started cleaning down and we're so very kind to me. Food was wondeful and the chicken burger was spot on! They were still cleaning after I finished my meal and walked out. The spicy chicken sandwich from belles is served in a quality soft white roll with rather basic ingredients, so it seems that the aim here is to really let the chicken do the talking. And the chicken speaks so loud that you just have to listen, but at the same time also whispers sweet nothings in your ear. While the chicken is clearly left to be the champion, it manages to bring the team together to form a winning combination. Have been back. And will be back.
