I had the worst experience here! I'm not one to leave Internet reviews but I feel like something has to be said. I came in on a Tuesday afternoon for drinks with some friends after work. The bar wasn't busy, so we chatted with the bartender and I believed everyone was getting along and having a good time. When I left to go to the restroom the bartender, named Johnny from Wellington, told my friend that he didn't like me because I was American. She pressed him to see if there was a specific reason why he didn't like me or if I had exhibited any bad behavior, but he couldn't give any examples. It was simply because I was American. Obviously once I returned from the bathroom my friend, who is not American, told me what had happened, as she felt very uncomfortable. At first I didn't think I should react to his ignorance, but I realized that his generalization of me was very unfair as I believed we were having a very pleasant chat! I said in a very calm way, "I heard that you don't like me because I'm American", and he immediately turned to my friend and said "thanks a lot". No apology to me. He didn't even try to defend himself. I didn't back down though, and kept pressing him for reasons. He began to feel very uncomfortable and couldn't even look me in the eyes. He then said "You becoming upset about this is just defending my argument, not helping yours." Basically trying to blame the victim for his bigotry. Then the manager, Alan came over. He immediately defended Johny. No apology for me. He tried to act very apologetic, by putting his arm around me and pulling a stool next to ours. But it felt very dismissive and almost like he was talking down to me. I became so frustrated I began to cry! I'm absolutely mortified that I cried in public, at a bar, in front of these two a**holes.. I'm just so frustrated by their ignorance as this is the year 2017, not 1917. Where I'm from doesn't define who I am. I can't even imagine what it would feel like if I was of a different race or sexual orientation and I had come into this bar. I can't believe the treatment I received here, by these prejudiced ignorant men. It's not even so much that my feelings are hurt, as I'm appalled by their behavior in what is supposed to be one of the most liberal countries...

Went with a group of co workers on a Wednesday night. The team waiting by the door were lovely and friendly, had a good chat about being in the hospo industry. When we went upstairs to the bar the tall bartender served us first and asked us where we worked, when we told him we worked across the road he was sooo kind and gave us a discount for being work neighbours. Because there was 8 of us I decided to order with the the other bartender as he was free. I told him that I was with the same group as the ones ordering with the other bartenders and that were work neighbours. He then asked me where we worked and I told him, and he said Ive never heard or seen of that place before then charged me full price. Which I did not mind paying but when I asked him why the rest of my co workers got charged different to me and they got the discount he said "at least have a conversation with me first" and shoved the eftpos system to my face. When I told my co workers they got upset and said it wasn't fair. For the rest of the night none of us went back to the bartender with glasses, very rude dude. To the tall bartender if you remember us come by and were more than happy to give YOU a discount and show you a good time...

Corrupt, no integrity, no respect or accountability for their own mistakes. Because of that you’re not welcomed in places outside of the country. This isn’t towards the entire establishment. Just a few of the staff members.

Also you want something to go your way just be the first one to complain and they’ll take your side IMMEDIATELY. No questions asked. You can literally say someone from ten feet away from you was bothering you when you never even seen that person in your life and they will take your side immediately and kick an innocent person out.

Oh also you don’t lie and say ok we’re gonna talk it out then dip out that’s extremely ghetto especially for people that have a higher rep lmao.

They also took the side of a guy that said he doesn’t believe depression is real and also probably doesn’t think hair is real. They were probably under the age of 25 which could be the reason for this type of abnormal behavior because usually older folks are very mature about it but I understand the culture in this country is very different, it allows delusional and irrational thinking for the most part which is unforgivable with the rest...
