Booked for a group of 17 adult and 1 baby for Saturday 24th Feb. This booking was made a few months prior so the restuarant knew there was a big group coming. We opt for the asian fusion banquet. It was booked for a 515pm seating and did not expect the dinner to last 3.5 hours. The service was slow that night, the gentlemen I believe may have been the manager or supervisor introduced himself (forgot his name) he said he was going to look after our table that night. However that was the only time we ever saw him service the table. We had a few different food servers serve our table for the duration of our time so we didn't have the same server tend to our table, but pretty much all the floor staff. I asked one of the servers if they sold drinks by the jug, to which she said she wasn't sure but would find out. After 20 mins of waiting she never got back to me, so I asked another staff to which she told me that they don't. After 2 hours we were still just being served our entrees. We had a car ordered and waiting for us as we never anticipated that the dinner seating would be more than 2 hours. In the end we sent the car at 7pm after asking a staff how many more dishes were to come and found that we hadn't even started our mains, to which she added, "We are very busy tonight due to uber orders, so that's why your food is slow." My husband and I couldn't believe what we were hearing. I mean I guess that's why they kept bring bowls of deep fried chips out to keep everyone full to substitute for the slow food service. In all food was probably the highlight, not a place I would ever go again for the price and amount the party paid that night we could find service and food better elsewhere. So big groups think twice before dining here as uber eats would probably take...
Read moreCame here due to reading great reviews but was disappointed. The food was overpriced, neither authentic nor fusion. There are many comparable establishments at the same price point that either have more interesting menus or better execution. QT in Glen Iris, red spice road in the CBD and Firebird in prahran are significantly better.
Service certainly doesn’t match the prices. We were served drinks well after food had arrived. Plates were not cleared at all until the very end of the meal and while it’s not a deal breaker it is highly unusual.
Everything on the menu we tried was overwhelmingly the same flavour — nuoc mam and sugar. It would be better to have the entrees more complementary to the mains rather than getting sick of eating effectively the same dish over and over.
All of the dishes were basic Vietnamese dishes with slightly different presentation and renamed with English names. Hardly anything I would call fusion other than the wontons. Considering this, you could easily find cheaper and better executed Vietnamese food. The barramundi is dry, flavourless on the inside with sickly sweet fish sauce on top. You need more fresh herbs and more variety in flavour profiles on your menu. The owner’s responses to past negative reviews will tell you all you need to know about the...
Read moreI found the following very unsatisfactory for the amount that I had paid for the meal. $185 I had a party of 4 adults and 2 kids and arrived at 6:45pm
I ordered my food at 7pm and entrees came at 7:45pm and despite many promises that food will come shortly nothing came until well past 8pm. This is quite unsatisfactory as I had 2 hungry kids which made the whole experience bad Note: I feel like there were not many diners at the restaurant as there were space in each level.
Mostly the food was ok. The chicken bulgogi was cold and the pho beef was overcooked and not slightly rare.
The service was below average as there were no cutlery provided (knifes and forks) and no share bowls provided in first instance and I had to mostly get the cutlery myself and ask several times for share bowls by going down to the second level.
Anyway based on the price and experience, I would not go back again especially with kids. And as a local that has had been to your restaurant a few times when it was first opened, the standards have definitely dropped...
