Upon arrival, I received a warm welcome from a lovely receptionist, who I believe was the owner, and whose exceptional professionalism was on par with high-end hotels. After checking in, I was kindly walked to my room which added a personal touch, beyond havinga room key thrown at you. The room itself was well-appointed with a stove, dishwasher, iron, ample storage space, refrigerator, bathroom, and laundry facilities (located on the ground floor), as well as a private balcony. The only downside, beyond the control of the Melrose Apartments, is the proximity to a neighboring building that unfortunately attracts an undesirable clientele. However, after expressing my concerns about a ground-floor apartment, the gracious hostess reassured me about their comprehensive security measures and the property's generally peaceful atmosphere. Its quiet location is somewhat inconvenient, being distant from local dining options. There is, however, a shopping strip a 10-minute stroll away. Read moreStarting with amenities. There are none. Self contained kitchenettes, Not full sized but everything or almost everything is available. It certainly doesn’t fit the description of an apartment. Now everything is small and closed in especially the balcony. Tiny. Don’t ask about parking. There is none unless you want to pay for your compact vehicle to go into the rumpus room of the building. Now the biggest faux pas is the fact that the Victorian State housing blocks are right opposite the Melrose. This is great if you have selected the not free parking and you wish to make an insurance claim. The owner has issues with the locals. The proprietor has many issues with the truth. It has water views for certain if you are in the kitchen or bathroom. If you have caught on by now you should understand there are many misleading statements which simply are not true. Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at Melrose Apartments for three weeks during the second Melbourne Covid lockdown.|I came across Melrose Apartments on Google when searching for temporary accommodation to escape horrendous construction noise that made staying in my home unbearable.|I couldn’t have been happier with the service (Thank you Lisa! You were incredibly kind, and a delight to interact with).|The location was fantastic: A lot of public transport options nearby; free parking; a short stroll to some fantastic cafes, restaurants and supermarkets; and Royal Park (just across the road) was an ideal location for my hour of permitted exercise!|I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the room, and the facilities available to me.
