I have to say, I was super excited for a new bakery in Kensington after Crumbs closed down and really wanted to give a 5-star review for the great variety of baked goods, down to earth staff and amazing coffee, but there are a few points that I want to mention here at the end. First of all, rumble coffee is superb, you will never be disappointed with any of the coffees you order here. The breakfast muffin was delicious, good bacon and well balanced with the relish. Note, the Reuben isn't available for breakfast and is released closer to lunch time. There is a bench and a few bar stool seats to allow dine in. Wheel chair and pram friendly. So the downer of this place is the opening hours isn't friendly to those who work full time Mon-Fri. No one likes to work weekends, myself included, but I do hope the place would consider adding in a weekend opening. Lastly, I love a good brioche donut but the Double Dutch brioche donut was incredibly salty and this isn't balanced out by the sugar coating nor the jam filling. Not enjoyable, please consider reducing the salt content.

What an ideal location! Great bakes, solid coffees, and all just around the corner from where the magic happens (don't tell Jacob that, lol). The shop is really nice, it's more set up for takeaway, but there's a few stools to sit at on a bar. The shop is spacious, but I can picture what they are trying to build, and it's definitely on the right track. The sandwiches, muffins, bread, and bakes are all solid. Some of the best breakfast muffins I've seen, and I'm from England! Sweet pastries were a delight, I enjoyed my musketeer, too. The retail section is solid, as you would expect from Rumble and the team behind Double Dutch. I'll be back to smash a breakfast muffin and some more coffees. Best of luck with the new location, and thanks for being legends and answering all my questions this morning.

My experience at Double Dutch truly made my entire trip in Melbourne! Nothing feels better than entering a random coffee shop to be greeted with the biggest and warmest smiles, and sealed off with a warm and comfy flat white. The space is gorgeous — clean and spacious, perfect for a morning coffee + book to accompany it. Ended up coming here every single morning during my stay here and couldn’t help but light up when I entered on my 2nd morning and the baristas remembered my name and warmly greeted me! (especially as a solo traveller)🥹🥹🫶🏻 Thanks Luke and Tyler for the warm hospitality shown to me, and every other customer that walked through the doors of Double Dutch! Definitely coming back during my next trip to Melb, without a doubt!🤝🏻

Upon entry I spotted a young man carrying fresh sourdough to the display cabinet. I wasn’t going to eat bread today, but hot fresh sourdough, I couldn’t resist. The bread here is. 10/10. A forgotten gem in the humble suburb of Kensington. I order a coffee, (I haven’t had one for two days). I ask for a latte with honey. The lovely young man, in his towering warm stature, kindly explains, that they have no honey, “only sugar, but it’s really good sugar”. I grimace, I’m strange, I would rather unsweetened coffee than coffee sweetened with sugar. The gentleman encourages me to, “go without honey”. I explain that I’m not open to interrogating my bad habits today. I order my coffee without sugar. I leave the premises with my hot bread, freshly ground coffee beans and my unsweetened coffee. I take a sip. By golly, it’s true, it doesn’t need honey. It’s delicious, I want to order a second one and drink it simultaneously to the first.

The man didn’t lie, the coffee doesn’t need it.

Best coffee I’ve had in a...

I was very disappointed from the cost and service of coffee here. I felt somewhat cheated as I wanted a small coffee but was offered a small in a baby chino type cup so it was not a small more like a ploy to deceive customers or to prompt them to order the large so I was quite shocked when they charged me almost 8 dollars for the large so I felt like this was a dirty business tactic and that made me feel that money was priority rather than quality here a surcharge was also charged on weekends which made the coffee an absolute rort , heavy price stay away. There are better options around the corners where I got an exact same size coffee. Stay away. There are better options around the corners where I got an exact same size coffee for just over five dollars absolutely no difference whatsoever. Poor form guys extremely disappointed the staff were sombre and just lacked enthusiasm. If you don’t want to be there then don’t work we’re you don’t...
