Mama Wong's has amazing food. You likely will not be disappointed on that front. However, there are some issues I have with the place: There are way too many instructions around the place- Telling you to not stand on the couches, to not waste sauce, etc (not to mention, in capital letters and exclamation marks). So much so that it feels like you are constantly being told off. I once told the owner that I was not happy with a certain dish and that it lacked flavor, to which she argumentatively responded "We add too much flavor, people complain, we take flavor away, people complain". When a customer is beginning their conversation with "We come here often and love the food" they are obviously looking out for you and being honest, not attacking you. All in all, I think if customers feel more welcome (maybe a smile on the face of the owner and servers), you remove the awful scolding instructions, and take feedback more openly instead of arguing with your customers, it would help your business. This place should be packed with customers due to its food quality, but I feel these are the reasons people are not enjoying their stay...
Read moreLooks like I'm the first to review. This place opened recently, so it's relatively clean and tidy on the inside. It has a warm, lively environment. The food is mostly great. I haven't tried most of the items, but judging from what my family got, the food was pleasant. We tried some noodles, stir fry and honey chicken, they were all enjoyable. We also got the prawn chips, which are very affordable and delicious. The prices were affordable and not too bad. Noodles: around 11 Dollars. Stir fry options (chicken/beef with veggies and an oriental sauce) were around 14 dollars. The staff is really friendly and service is prompt. It's great that they offer halal food. They also have a small prayer area (2 people Max) for whoever wants to do salat. The only inconvenient thing was that the restaurant is a tight space, so I'd recommend it for small groups (3-5) more than large groups (our family was 10 people). All in all, it's a place I'd...
Read moreWe decided to dine in and have some food since my young daughter was in the mood for some egg fried rice. They quickly whipped up a dish without spring onion which was appreciated. We went with satay chicken skewers, honey chicken and mee goreng. The satay thighs were good but the honey chicken was rubbery and stringy inside and did not at all have the texture of chicken breast. The chicken in the mee goreng was also mushy and I felt like I was eating fish. We raised these with the staff who dismissed our concerns and told us that everyone else was happy with the food so they weren’t going to take any action to resolve the problem. We paid for the meal and left the full plates of honey chicken and mee goreng behind. We won’t be coming back because customer service and quality is severely lacking. The front of house staffer was very helpful and apologetic but the same cannot be said about the people we assume...
