Manow Thai — Restaurant in Melbourne

Below this current review of 19/1/24 is my 5-star review of 4 years ago, though we have eaten here since : What has happened since we were last here, maybe 18 months ago? Have new owners/chef taken over? What a disappointment for all 4 of us last night. Service was slow after we asked the new waiter, who could hardly speak English, to come back shortly to take our order. After 15 mins I finally got his attention. He stumbled over what we wanted and we had to correct him on 2 dishes. Then we were asked by a waitress to confirm Jasmine or coconut rice. The entrees came out. Nothing wrong. Then the first of the mains came out. One of the 4 mains was wrong - green curry instead of red. They replaced it. The 2 curries were mostly juice. I know the dishes are "creamy" but there was a shortcoming in the amount of meat and vegetables. Then the Pad Thai later came. Well. We have had Pad Thai here and at many places around Oz, even having a dish at each of the 3 Thai restaurants in Bunbury WA last year to compare them. Tonight's dish was abysmal. Very little noodles, overcooked and gluggy, and half the dish had raw bean shoots thrown on top. What the ...? Sorry. What a let down from what we have experienced before. Back to Thai Village in Mentone for us where we used to frequent.

4-years ago: Been here a few times with friends. The food is always excellent and heaps of it. We've had the banquet the last two times and were not disappointed. The service can be a bit slow, but we're not in a hurry to gulp down our food anyway, besides the friendliness and smiles of the staff make up for it. We go out to chat, have a good time, and enjoy good food, and Manow Thai ticks...

We ordered the seafood fried rice along with other dishes. Before we ate the fried rice my husband and I thought wow no t much Seaford, so we picked through and pull the seafood to the side. Two table spoons is all we found chopped up with in the meal. Disgusting for the amount charged. We took a photo it was that bad. Rang the resturant once we got home to to state how disapointed we were be told no there was five prawns in the meal. No way such a joke. Photo doesn't lie. I have too also add I have never posted any feed back on resturant sites before this is a first for me, but Andrew the cook was so rude I had to post. Other...

Ordered $68.00 worth of food. Food arrived but money bags entree was overcooked and dry. My daughters papaya salad was half the container and soft, with prawns we could not cut with a knife as so dry. On ringing the restaurant they apologised and offered to replace them. Over 1hr later my daughter starving, I call again. This time told it was uber eats fault. I told them uber didn't cook the foodnor promise to replace it. This business is on par with the worst I have had to deal with. My daughter went without.. but I made her something. Just donated money to a business I was trying to help in these trying times.....
