HIDDEN LOCAL GEM!
Absolutely incredible Indian cuisine! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the warm, aromatic scents of spices that instantly set the stage for what turned out to be an exceptional dining experience. The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced—each dish clearly crafted with care and tradition.
This place should be busier than it is. If it were on the other side of the street it would be full every night. Cross the road for Indian delight!
We started with the beef masseman, which was creamy, mildly spiced, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The sauce was so flavorful that we found ourselves scooping up every last bit with the fresh naan, which was soft, slightly crispy at the edges, and infused with just the right amount of garlic.
The ambiance added another layer to the experience. The décor was tastefully done with warm lighting, traditional touches, and soft Indian music playing in the background that added to the relaxed and cozy atmosphere. It was easy to forget we were still in town—it truly felt like a mini trip to India.
The service was just as noteworthy as the food. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. They offered helpful suggestions based on our preferences and even explained the dishes to us, which enhanced our appreciation of the cuisine.
Overall, this restaurant exceeded our expectations on every level. Whether you're a longtime fan of Indian food or trying it for the first time, this place is an absolute must-visit. We’re already looking forward to...
Read moreSaffron: Where the Tadka Dahl Gave Me an Emotional Support Spoon
Listen, I don’t want to be dramatic, but Saffron’s Tadka Dahl might have healed my inner child. I sat down expecting a nice meal — what I got was a full-body hug through my mouth. It’s like the chef bottled up the feeling of being tucked into bed by someone who loves you and said, “Yeah, let’s serve this with rice.”
Every spoonful of that Tadka Dahl felt like being swaddled in a warm, golden cloud. I half expected a Bollywood movie montage of my life’s happiest memories to start playing across the table. I cried a little. The waiter asked if I was okay. I just nodded solemnly and whispered, “Tadka.”
The naan? Pillowy enough that if you dropped it, you’d probably bounce back up and ask for a second serving. The rice? Fluffier than a baby panda having a good hair day.
I don’t even know how I got home. I think the dahl walked me there. It packed me into bed, kissed my forehead, and whispered, “You are safe.”
Saffron: 1000/10. Would legally adopt the dahl if it...
Read moreMy first time dining here with friends and my wife last night. From the on set I was impressed. Great looking resteraunt inside with its large wall mural one side, distressed brickwall the other, well set out tables and space. We were greeted straight away by friendly staff and seated. Drinks order was taken once we sat and were delivered quickly.
The four of us decided to order the Banquet for $52 p.p. The food combination was delicious, meats very tender, sauces flavoursome and plentiful for the four of us. I was full at end. The only thing I would have enjoyed would have been some more spice to the food, as I didn't detect much at all. A little bit of traditional heat would be great.
All staff were attentive, removed completed dishes quickly, friendly and professional.
I was left impressed with the entire evening and quality of our meal.
Would highly recommend dining in and booking to avoid disappointment. The resteraunt...
