If I could give zero stars, I would. The short, aggressive manager with black hair and a side part running this place has absolutely no clue how to treat paying customers or guests. From the second we arrived, his attitude was beyond rude — snapping at people, raising his voice, and treating everyone like they were a problem instead of patrons supporting the business.
He strutted around with an arrogant, inflated ego like he owned the world, despite having the professionalism of a brick wall. On top of that, for someone in a managerial role, he was dressed appallingly — far too many shirt buttons undone, chest hanging out, and looking sloppy and unkempt. Honestly, he gave off more “trying-too-hard” vibes.
He was kicking people out left and right for ridiculous reasons, like having a drink outside before entering the venue, even when they hadn’t broken any actual rules inside. Instead of handling situations calmly or respectfully, he was confrontational and dismissive, clearly on some kind of power trip.
Even more concerning, staff mistakes — like serving alcohol to underage patrons — were handled with zero professionalism. Instead of taking responsibility or addressing it appropriately, this manager doubled down, was aggressive about it, and even called customers liars to their faces. Then, after kicking these underage guests out, he literally left them standing on the street alone at 9:30 at night to wait for a pick-up, saying it wasn’t his responsibility.
The whole experience was uncomfortable, embarrassing, and a total waste of money. I’ve never seen a hospitality manager behave so badly. If you value respect, fairness, and basic customer service, avoid this place until they hire someone who actually knows how to treat...
Read moreI recently booked the function room at Mt Alexander Hotel for an event, and I must say I was extremely disappointed with the experience. First of all, the function price per head was a staggering $60, and for that, we received a mere eight tiny pieces of canapés per person. It was nowhere near what we were originally promised, especially considering the cost.
To make matters worse, prior to our event we reached out to let the venue know we would be having a DJ. The owner on the night of our function kept turning down the music and interrupting our night. The night was ruined because everytime we would start dancing, the music would be controlled by the manager and turned down. We were promised the music was allowed until 1 am.
But what truly marred our evening was the constant interruptions by the owner due to so-called ‘noise restrictions.’ We were celebrating a special occasion, and instead of allowing us to enjoy ourselves, we were repeatedly reprimanded for simply having a good time.
The only positive was Pauliina was very responsive prior to booking and was helpful on the night.
Overall, I found the entire experience to be a complete letdown. I expected a lot more for the price we paid, and the constant interference by the owner made it an incredibly frustrating and disappointing night for...
Read moreWe called in regarding their dog friendly policy and they mention that they are ok with bringing dogs to the premises, indoor even. What was not disclose was the seating area given was tables with bar stool over normal dinning tables, so with 2 very small dogs these high tables are a little intimating and harder to keep them in check.
Decided to move outdoors but it turns out the outdoor area is only for smoking area, so they are not allow to serve food there. We were also informed by the floor staff that the hotel is not suppose to have dogs indoors, but they allowed it for our sake. So our party decided to finish up the appetizers they had order and went somewhere else.
Can't comment on food personally as we did not order anything while trying to sort thru the seating arrangement hurdles, the location looks nice and nicely lid with good (but maybe a little loud) music. Maybe someone with calmer dogs might appreciate the location and vibe a little more then we do. Suggest maybe providing a little more info on their website on what kind of seating (indoor/outdoor) available for food service, and if they provide normal dinning tables or...
