I used the bathroom briefly today for a medical emergency and was grilled for using it and not buying a drink. Funny thing is I was leaving to pick up a purchase before the shops close and would be heading back that way later and was thinking to stop in and check the place out until I was confronted with the worst service ever and no empathy or understanding. Won’t be back and I will let everyone I know know too. That’s the thing with kindness, it goes a long way, do the opposite and lose out.
In response to your reply:
I want to clarify what actually happened. I was walking down the back alley on my way to get a tram when I suddenly had a medical emergency. I saw the bar sign and went through the back entrance to check for a bathroom, which I went straight to. At no point did I walk past any staff member or anyone asking if I wanted a drink. If someone did try to speak to me, I clearly didn’t hear them due to the urgency of my situation.
When I came out, you confronted me about using the bathroom without being a customer. I calmly explained my emergency, but there was no empathy or understanding — only repeated insistence that it is a business. Nobody was yelling; I did not raise my voice. If anything, you were in my face while I calmly responded.
You could also more than likely see my cochlear implant and consider that I’m deaf, which makes any claim to the contrary potentially discriminatory. My review accurately reflects my experience. Adding untrue claims and attempting to rewrite what happened does not change the reality — I will not be back, given the level of service and lack of care displayed. The graphic detail of my emergency only came up because of your repeated insistence that I wasn’t a paying customer — initially, I was not being graphic at all. You may try to paint it differently, but it will never...
Read moreTerrible experience last night, was with a group of at least 40 with a fair few thousand dollar bar tab. Most of which were females, who were refused to sit inside the venue in sub 10 degree temperatures, our booking was forced to sit outside in the cold and refused gas heaters being turned on by staff and the owner.
Females were shivering from the cold, whilst inside the venue was half full and yet refused the human rights privilege of warmth on a freezing evening. Refusing to refund the bar tab our group was forced to stay in this very inhospitable environment, especially when the owner/manager then began denying people of our party drinks off the tab because they refused to sit outside in the cold.
Disgusting service, expect another 20 minimum of...
Read moreThis is a nice casual one to retreat to if you're hitting a restaurant on Mt Alexander Rd or on your way back from the city on the 59. Quiet cosy bar with covered outside area at the back. Staff are very friendly, beverage choice is great too (Budějovický Budvar on tap! Probs 5 stars alone just for that).
This is your more intimate but pricier #2 wine bar choice in the area next to The Valley Cellardoor which these days is frequently packed out now it's been suddenly discovered by everyone in the last year you disgust me moonee ponds. I like this place a lot for a really chilled out beer or bottle to share, just...
