Well this was expected from the owner looking at the previous negative reviews and his reaction to them. First of all you need to take criticism on your restaurant be good or bad rather than arguing with everyone. You cant just keep thanking people for positive reciews and keep claiming that the reviews are either fake or people are lying if theyâre negative. Nobody has the time to keep commenting negative comments or randon restaurants. Please learn to take the criticism and act on it accordingly.
To answer your questions 1st - Yes you did have a person who was very slow and getting everything one by one. One soup then another then one spoon and when asked another spoon. Did u expect us to drink the soup directly ? No tissues also were there hut felt irritated asking him again and again. 2nd - A board about self serve, not sure where it was or you actually wanted it to be hidden so you can claim this later and also what is the point of self serve ina. Dine in restaurant. What was supposed to be self served ? Mandi spoons plate or water ? I dont have access to your kitchen unfortunately. And yes the mandi was served in a plate but the plate was filled with rice and meat. How am i supposed to eat where can i throw the bones ? In the plate itself ? Cant even keep it in the side as it was filled with rice. 3rd - Again please read the review properly. I said you are not an authentic mandi place you are a hyderabadi restaurant as no authentic mandi place serves dum biryani. I wanted the authentic taste and i dint get it. There are many mandi places on lygon street itself who actually serve good mandi and are authentic. Wont name them as you will think im from there but I visited your place was just because they dint have lamb mandi that day. 4th - this shows to what extend youâre not even ready to accept or apologitic about your mistakes. The lamb was actually bad brother and had a raw smell. And even if somebody complained or not its not like you will come and tell us here. 5th - again dont know whats the need of self serve at a dine in place or what exactly u expect us to serve ourselves. Its not a buffet.
Lastly, only replying from here again because I couldnât reply on my...
Read moreIf you are a person who looks for reviews before visiting then dont be ready to be fooled as I was. The reviews look great 4.4 rating and everyone chanting about how authentic their mandi is was the reason I visited this place. I had been to this place a while back probably a month or so (just letting you know so that the owner doesnât come back saying this is a fake review) I have a trasaction proof too.
Well to start with it is not an authentic mandi place its an indian restaurant (hyderabadi) to be specific but its okay as long as they make a good mandi but unfortunately these guys dont.
We ordered a chicken and a lamb mandi and weâre served with soup first. The soup was not usually the one you get served at a mandi place but it was more of a bone soup or nalli soup. It was smelly to start with had a sip and left it.
Then we were served with mandi after a while. The man who served us dint seem to be the iwner but may be someone who works there. He was the perfect example of laziness as he was making a face to anything asked. Sevred mandi wothout plates and when asked for a plate he got one plate ever thought we were two people đ. We asked for another one and he made a face and got another plate. No mandi sauce was served with the mandi and when asked he again made a face before gettting a watery tomato soup. It was probably just made and was basically water with just red colour. Thatâs how bland and tasteless it was.
Chicken mandi was average and edible(only because i was hungry) but the lamb mandi was terrible. The lamb stinked. Iâm not sure if that was undercooked overcooked or just had a bad smell but it was bad. Had to wash my hands thrice to get of the smell. Quantity was bad tooas compared to other mandi places in Melbourne where youâre served good amount of rice.
Lastly and the most basic thing we were not even served water. When we tried to ask we couldnât find the lazy guy as he served and went into the kitchen. I had to finish my food and get water myself from the front desk.
Overall a very bad experice. As a person who doesnât write reviews, had to just write this one because it was actually that bad and I dont want anyone to have mandi from...
Read moreWe ordered two lamb sheesh kebab as a starter; one with mild flavor and one with hot. We also ordered âBig Feastâ which was perfect for us (5 adults and 3 kids). We were there to share our food. Letâs be honest about the food. Lamb sheesh was accompanied by rice, salad and bread. Rice was cold which was disappointing. We pointed this issue out to the waiter and his response was âyou should have told us earlierâ. Last time I checked, providing a hot meal to the customer, in a restaurant, is the norm. However lamb sheesh was too good; hence cold rice was not a big deal but the response from the waiter was. Now letâs dive in to the big feast, the rice was enough hot & tasty, chicken was very juicy and tender. Fish was very good but the adana kebab made us disappointed. Four of us have the same comment about the adana kebab; stale or off. And the manager/owner tried to defend it saying the lamb meat would taste like this. That would actually diminish the fact that we really loved their lamb sheesh. Whatever, we did not want to get involved in any argument. At the end, they were generous enough to compensate us with a chicken skewer which I couldnât taste as I had already finished my meal. We really appreciate the gesture. I am writing this review as a well wisher expecting them to take the right measures to pick up the slack here and there. I wish them...
