We celebrated our twin daughter’s 13th birthday at Pier 71 in the back function room. There were ten adults and twenty excited little teens! 😝
Laura was absolutely lovely to deal with and made the process of ordering food and drinks for a large group very easy. She went through all of the food options for us adults and suggested a different menu for the girls.
As I wanted my event to be a particular theme, Laura was only to happy to set up everything for me on the day. During the week of my function I had dropped off tablecloths, table runners, napkins, gifts for the girls friends and on the day the cake.plinth, cake, flowers and balloon arrangements!
When we all arrived to the restaurant, everything was set up perfectly and the back room looked so beautiful. All of our guests loved the set up done by Laura and the team! Thank you for offering this service as it saved me a lot of time and stress!
The food was absolutely delicious and consisted of antipasto platters, pizza’s, calamari and arancini. The girls loved the penne bolognese, pizza and vanilla ice cream with topping. There was so much food and all of our guests commented on how good the food was.
The staff were very polite, friendly and attentive all evening. They constantly came up to me to ask if everything was okay and if I needed anything at all.
Thank-you to Laura and all of the staff, we really appreciate all of your efforts.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Pier 71 Restaurant and look forward to celebrating more functions there in the future. Love supporting small local businesses...
Read moreWe had a difficult time choosing any vegetarian options even though most Italian food has a lot of vegetarian gormet food. We ordered at the end of the arduous task of sifting through an very small menu the mushroom risotto, which arrivewd at the table resembling what it was but when upon tasting it, it tasted like it had no salt. Luckily the restaursant had Sicilian table salt at the table. It was very bland apart form adding the salt. Customer service was excellent and we were treated very well. We ordered conolli but what we received was far from authentic Italian canolli. This was not an authentic experience and I would describe it as average. I'm not going to be too negative as the service was nice. The menu needs to be expanded. Like for instance "pasta with cuccuzza" or something autrhentic. I can tell that this restaurant has a lot of potential to be named as fine dining if they stop focusing on thew fast food approach to fine dining. Please improve as my ratings for you guys will too. I excpect excellence from italians. Show your quality expand your menu and show the true dishes from our country. Other than that the chefs did a wonderful job with the limited menu they have. I would dine there again. Just hope for a higher choice of genuine...

I recently dined at Pier 71 Cucina in Altona Meadows, hoping for a pleasant Italian meal, but unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. The overall experience was quite underwhelming, particularly with the lackluster quality of the dishes.
To start, the Pizza Margherita was acceptable, but nothing beyond average. It had the expected flavors but didn’t stand out in any way. However, the Pizza Funghi was a real letdown. It lacked any distinct taste, and the mushrooms, which should have been the highlight, were bland and tasteless.
Moving on to the Fettuccine Seafood, the dish was shockingly bland. Seafood pasta should pack a punch of fresh, rich flavors, but this was completely underseasoned and lacked the depth and freshness you’d expect from a seafood dish. It almost felt like an afterthought, thrown together without much care.
Lastly, the burger was unremarkable, failing to impress in any way. It was just standard fare, something you could get at any average place without expecting much.
All in all, Pier 71’s food was disappointing m, I would not recommend it based on this experience. It simply failed to deliver on...
