Saigon Sun — Restaurant in Melbourne

Having spent weeks eating food in USA who don’t make good Asian food, we headed to our local, Saigon Sun only a few hundred metres from our front door. Can’t believe we haven’t been here before. We were greeted by Lee who knew my partner Jim from many years before. So sweet. We ordered curry puffs tonsure - very nice. My partner ordered lemon duck for main course and I ordered roti with beef. All meals came with a timely pace between each course. The puffs were good, although they tasted like they’d been heated up. The chanai was delicious and the roti bread well cooked. The duck was amazing and very authentic. Notes: service was exceptional. The best Asian restaurant in the west. Meals are absolutely fantastic in quality, flavour & presentation. Prices are very reasonable too at $80 for two for a great 3 course meal. The lady owner has been here for ages and is so customer friendly. The decor is only average but very clean - you come here for the great food & service. Very friendly staff. I'd go back here just for the service.

The food was ok. Wasn't bad at all. But maybe I should try a few more of their items to get that really satisfactory experience. I should have asked for a recommendation. It was actually my second time here but haven't learned.

The place is a bit worn down but still clean. The location is awesome, being near the train station.
