PK's Restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

I couldn't believe the quality of food coming out of this kitchen. I really don't expect much from hotel restaurants and I was extremely surprised and delighted. I had duck confit on rosti with pan fried vegetables and plum sauce. This was absolutely delicious! The duck was beautifully tender and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The plum sauce was so nice I asked for more. My husband was very jealous of the rosti which again was delicious. He had the fillet steak, rare, again cooked to perfection with potato gratin, tomatoes, asparagus and a mushroom sauce. We're from the UK and have been touring around Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, The Blue Mountains, Canberra, Melbourne, The Great Ocean Road, Warrnambool and back to Melbourne and I have to say this restaurant shares top place with a Thai meal we had in Katoomba. We have stayed at the Quality Airport Inn on several occasions when traveling overseas as it’s not expensive, rooms are ok and they have a free airport shuttle. We’ve never had dinner at PK’s restaurant. Tonight we did and were so pleased we chose to. A mistake was made with our drinks price at the bar during “happy hour”. Manager Amy had it sorted immediately. We had a Parma and PK’s special pasta. We were looked after by Jess and Rhodia served us at the PK’s bar. Meals were lovely and service was wonderful.
