2024 Updated Review:
It’s disappointing to see a five-star shop decline to a one-star establishment.
❌ On August 3, 2024, at 9 PM, the cashiers working on the cake side of the shop—both a girl with a nose piercing and a skinny girl—provided extremely poor customer service. They exhibited negative attitudes throughout, which was evident in their facial expressions.😡😠😑🥱🙄😒🤨😤😮💨
There were no greetings, no assistance with the menu, and frequent eye rolling.🙄🙅🏻♀️🙅🏻♀️☠️☠️
❌ They are not suited for customer-facing roles. Given the other negative reviews about rude staff, I’m surprised management hasn’t addressed this issue. Their behavior is damaging the business. If they dislike working here so much, they should consider leaving.👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
❌ Poor service diminishes the overall experience and discourages customers from returning. Even if the food is excellent, the staff’s behavior can make the overall experience feel much worse. 📉📉📉📉😓😓😓
🪳 There are also concerns regarding food safety and hygiene. There’s a saying that you can judge a restaurant by the cleanliness of its toilets.
🦠There is mold around a loose/ falling-apart tap, a dead cockroach indicating a pest infestation, and no toilet paper or paper towels 🧻. OLD 2021 review:
I love their soy milk tea with tea jelly and cheese topping. Drank it 83 times in the last year.
It's THE BEST boba shop in Melbourne.
It can get really busy due to it's popularity so be prepared to wait (go for a walk around Carnegie whilst waiting or get your groceries next door) or you can always pre order.
What I'm most surprised today is how good their service is. It's always been polite and attentive but today was exemplary. There was an issue with my order. Most boba shops will push the blame onto the customer but Rich Tea Carnegie was polite, offered a solution and was apologetic.

Read moreabsolute w of a place, my friend and i made the mistake of eating before we came here and decided to order a family sized strawberry bingsoo. mind you, we're two 5'2 teen girls who have pretty small appetites, so it was such a struggle but it hit the spot. the serving sizes are so generous (generous as in basically piled on top of an already huge bowl) and a bang for your buck, in my opinion. also, the dessert wasn't too sweet and we somehow managed to finish most of the bingsoo. honestly, after it settled in my stomach, i seriously wanted to go back for more because that's how good it was. like, both of us regretted not being able to finish it. as someone who doesn't really have a sweet tooth, the amount of sweetness was just right. actually, the bingsoo was so good it made me reconsider my decade long hate for strawberries. i have now converted into a strawberry enthusiast. the ratio of strawberry to the rest was SO PERFECT, like the golden ratio. ALSO, i hate whipped cream, but there was something in the whipped cream here that was so good. i promise you 100% i am not glazing the place, it was so good and i genuinely dream about the bingsoo and...
Read moreMy friend and I visited Rich Tea Dessert Shop and were met with incredibly poor service. We were excited to see a promotion for two Basque cakes for $18 and assumed it applied to all varieties of Basque cakes. However, it was only at checkout that we learned the discount was limited to the same types. When we inquired about getting a refund to then purchase the eligible types of cakes to benefit from the promotion, the server reacted negatively. They accused us of not reading the discount details properly, showing visible frustration and reluctance to process our refund without saying a word. Moreover, without asking us, they packed both cakes together, seemingly as a form of retaliation for our request. This behavior was disappointing and left us feeling highly dissatisfied with the staff’s attitude at Rich Tea Dessert. I’m writing this review to inform others about the level of service quality at this...
