Rooster & Co — Restaurant in Melbourne

We've ordered food a few times at this very busy takeaway restaurant located in a cafe strip in Greythorn shopping area. They are always super busy with people even waiting outside sometimes. The team behind the counter are good natured, even though they are generally flat out. Charcoal cooked Greek style chicken, Gyros, Southern Fried chicken, a great range of salads, roast vegetables and other dishes. Lots of meal packs to choose from. Limited seating outside and inside. Great looking crispy skin charcoal roasted chicken which seemed to be bigger than the usual size you get from chicken shops. Tender, moist and delicious, really nicely seasoned. Chips were excellent, fresh and crispy, and we were blown away by the huge size of the Family sized box. Massive, 3 very hungry people barely managed to eat 1/2 of it. Must be close to 1kg of chips! The southern fried chicken was also great, moist, with a delicious crispy crumb coating. Next time we'll try the Gyros as the meat cooking over the hot coals looked...

Outstanding! Chicken, chips and gyro to die for - these people are passionate and know what they are doing.

After 1 taste, this place instantly become a regular staple for our family. The kids now ask for it over their old fave fast food places (the best chips in Melb).

The chicken the Gyros seasoned so beautifully and the potato bake (oh my!) are absolutely outstanding. This place is so tasty this will be our 3rd Christmas we will place an order for the day. I can break my back and still not achieve this yummy result myself!

As the absolute icing on the cake, the owners and staff are the best. They are always so cheerful, helpful and polite. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they really treat you like family. You don't feel like another number, but a welcome guest.

Family came down from interstate for a surprise. I’m like oh no they brought food to my house from Rooster & Co.

As always a disappointment, they found the staff immature and the food dry. It seems to me this business has multiple google accounts, every time an honest entry is posted they talk themselves up. Red Rooster has a quarter chicken and chips for $5 these days.

I agree with the reviews from A K and Vivi. Absolutely NEGATIVE place. The South African lady is very rude and talks down to her husband. She said and quote ‘Do you ever want sex again’ to him In front of all the customers. The food is inconsistent and fatty like a lot of these small charcoal places. Go to Coles or Woolworths you get a whole cooked chicken for $10. Don’t waste your time...
