Side Street Lounge — Restaurant in Melbourne

If I could give no stars that would be much more representative of how I feel. My friends and I went here to have a few drinks for a celebration. Sitting outside and we witnessed the most appalling, disgraceful performance of security number 128 who was of Indian appearance. He very aggressively assaulted a man who was not aggressive toward him at all simply asking why he was not allowed in and trying to explain his case to the "security guard". This guard aggressively pushed this man to the ground causing him to hit the back of his head on the bench seat, raised his fits multiple times at the man and dragged him around the corner out other patrons view and conveniently out of the view of the venue security cameras. This "security guard" was clearly on a power trip and had no right in his behaviour. We informed the manager whom we hope something was done about this but unsure. We did not know the poor man who was assaulted by this security guard but my group of friends and I are still in disbelief and disgust to the behaviour we witnessed last Friday. We did not feel safe at all, and that was all thanks to the behaviour of the security guard. Later just after deciding to part ways my friend needed to go to the toliet before she left. The same security guard who was obviously on a power trip refused her entry to go to the toliet, he did not say it but it was obviously because we spoke to the manager about his terrible behaviour. I would never recommend this venue to anyone. Go elsewhere...

Really happy with this place!! Me and my mother (who was in a wheelchair) got stranded in Mordicalloc and needed somewhere safe to sit and have a drink, After finding out is was a ticketed/paid event the security guard was amazing and went out of his way to ask the manager if me and my mother could sit outside and have a couple of drinks and one of the managers came out and personally welcomed us and said that we would always be welcome back if we got stuck. They let us sit and wait until we were able to get a ride home in a taxi. The place itself was great on the inside the bar staff were also very polite and knowledgeable. The manager was nothing but rude. he came up to us and said if we didn’t keep drinking he would kick us out as there was a line as seen by the photo provided there was no line. we had around 5 drinks each and were taking a small break. he then proceeded to say we lied about our ages even though it was my birthday. he dampened the whole mood and ruined my exciting birthday. we are frequent customers and love coming here and this ruined my view of this place. super dissapointed never experienced this anywhere (one of our friends is on their sobriety journey as well and thought it...
