Saigon Pho — Restaurant in Melbourne

Cockroach infestation here!!! Not the type to write reviews often and not really squeamish either but this place takes the cake. Went to dine in for a quick lunch because I saw it's one of the top rated pho places in footscray but I immediately sat down and saw a couple of cockroaches roaming around the wall and the table I sat at. Immediately lost my appetite after I ordered and just proceeded to pay for the pho I had a bite of only as I know it's a small business however reading another review after, I assume this has been a problem for a while but nothing has been done. Genuinely disgusting and I hope it gets dealt with soon. Regret that I didn't grab a photo for some proof and wished that I said something but just felt bad and couldn't get it out of me to be confrontational. I hope the business reads this and finds a way to have it...

I come here for Pho—and only Pho. It’s the best Pho in Footscray. My family and I eat here weekly.

The broth is delicious and not overpowered by MSG; I can always finish it down to the last drop.

The beef cuts are consistently tender—never tough or chewy.

The owner is friendly, and the staff are polite and efficient.

The shop is a bit dated, but the atmosphere is calm and quiet, making it easy to enjoy a conversation without loud TVs or bad music.

I have tried so many other Pho joints in Footscray but this place is the place I keep coming back to for the past 8 years! They are the most consistent, fresh, tasty Pho in Footscray and I wish more people can discover them.

The broth is by far the more sophisticated taste, not too sweet or peppery, with a nice balance of salt mixed with a dash of lemon. Their meat is always fresh unlike some places it's hit and miss depending on the day, not to mention the owner is friendly.

Make sure you ask for chilli oil if you getting takeaway.

Definitely a hidden gem and worth...
