Have been going for Friday evening dinners there for the past two years and food has been great apart from the odd occasion (mainly have found with seafood dishes) where we have got an upset stomach the next day, but otherwise dishes are tasty and authentic. However, the last few times I have found Joy (ironic - quite the opposite!) to be rude and uninviting with my 2 children in particular, telling them off when I was getting take away because my 2 yr old girl got a bit excited thinking we were going to sit down and eat, so took a seat and touched the cutlery. Joy proceeded to tell her off in an abrupt, loud and rude manner, to which my daughter then cried out of shock. Joy could also see that I was carrying my newborn baby so my back was turned as I was paying, and I was very taken aback by her behaviour. No apology offered to my daughter. There is a way to tell an excited two yr old (we were the only ones in the diner at the time too) to kindly not touch the cutlery and that was not it. Gopi was the exemplary host in his flexibility to allow us to decorate the cafe, personalising the walls in chalk writings of my sister’s life. The food spread was professionally served by His assistant Joyce who was serving non-stop the entire two hours we were partying and chatting and dancing away. High quality freshly served party food of oysters, salmon tartines, prawn cocktails on environmentally friendly toothpicks, the whole gamut.
