My husband treated himself to a coffee and croissant with some kind of filling, after his morning run before starting his work day. The croissant filling was rancid (I know this because I bit into it after seeing it on the kitchen counter thinking he had bought it for me) Oh well, no problem - my husband took it back to the cafe later that afternoon after finishing work. The person he spoke to got very defensive, blamed it on him "leaving it in the car all day" and asked why didn't he return it right away as well. He also told him they receive the pastries fresh everyday - okay then maybe that's something they need to address with their supplier then? My husband is not a confrontational person so this reaction was absolutely unwarranted - not sure why he was bullied for paying for an item that was inedible, simply asking for a refund and politely letting them know so they were aware.
