🌟 A Late-Night Ramen Revelation – Shujinko Brunswick 🌟 If you’re hunting for soul-warming ramen in Melbourne’s north, look no further than Shujinko Ramen Brunswick — this place is the gold standard for comfort food with depth, character, and consistency.

From the moment I stepped in, the vibe was spot-on: moody lighting, gentle jazz mingling with the hum of conversation, and the kind of welcome that feels like a hug in verbal form. It’s casual, but with a genuine sense of pride and precision behind every detail.

🍜 The ramen? A knockout. I went for the signature Karakuchi — rich, creamy broth that tasted like it had been simmering for days, with tender pork that literally melts in your mouth. The noodles were that perfect in-between of firm and chewy, catching every drop of that addictive broth. I added an extra marinated egg (highly recommend), and it was seasoned to perfection.

🧄 Bonus points: the garlic press on the table. A small touch that turns your ramen into something totally personal and unforgettable.

The karaage chicken was outrageously good — golden, crisp outside with juicy, flavour-packed meat inside. I’d go back for that alone.

💬 The staff were warm, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations. Even at 11pm, they treated me like I was their first customer of the day. That’s rare. And that’s why Shujinko isn’t just a place to eat — it’s a place to return to.

🚀 Final verdict: Whether you’re a ramen purist or just after something that hits hard on a chilly Melbourne night, Shujinko Brunswick delivers every time. Unpretentious, passionate, and seriously delicious.

11/10. Will be back....

There’s something about a steaming bowl of ramen in winter that just hits differently and can you ever really get a bad ramen?

Known for serving authentic Tokyo-style tonkotsu ramen with handcrafted noodles made fresh daily, they only have four types to choose from which isn't a bad thing. The venues themselves are cozy and I did love the wall art at this spot in particular.

I had the Katakuchi Ramen which is just a spicy twist on their signature Shujinko bowl and whilst it didn’t take the crown for the best or most filling ramen I've ever had, it was satisfying, hearty, and absolutely comforting.

The real surprise was the Chips which were golden, crispy and seasoned perfectly. I wasn’t expecting to be wowed by a side dish, but these chips might’ve stolen the show!

Not trying to reinvent the wheel, they do what they do consistently well - crafting a dining experience where you feel like the hero of your own...

shujinko is now is brunswick!! we were lucky to have a sneak peak at their new store on their soft opening, enjoying steamy hot bowls of fresh ramen and their tasty side dishes too.

i personally enjoyed my miso ramen the best! soooo deep in umami flavour, getting better and better as you made your way further into the bowl. all sides were served hot, especially the gyoza which had thin wrapping and juicy filling. their chilli oil took their tonkotsu broth to the next level, so good!

it’s your turn next. head down to their graaaand opening on october 29th, where you can also enjoy 50% off all dishes (until the 31st of october) as a special opening offer!

don’t miss out, these bowls will be...
