I wish i had been there to watch my burgers getting made!
Without a word of lie, I watched this guy pick up a slice of cheese off of the floor, look at it and then throw it on to a paddy on the grill he then proceeded to finish the burger and pack it in a bag ready for takeaway.
Let me set the scene. late night. Just finished work, i was chomping. The only thing that had a half decent review and was open was this place. Order online, picked up shortly there after, took it outside to eat, first impressions 'not bad, fresh, crispy buns, good flavours, etc.' I needed more napkins, so I ran back to the shop to get cleaned up, and to my discussed, I saw the most dreadful thing when eating out. I only just released this place and may have moved from the heart of Seddon. If I had known, I probably wouldn't have come here tbh. All in all, it was a better burger than the last time I was there. There's bars on the windows to keep you out and save you from getting a bad burger.
June 2024 (before sideshow moved?) We sat down to eat in, noting the menu we got stuck to the table, so we moved table. There are only four seating areas to sit. All of which were somewhat sticky. I guess they just wipe them down and not clean them properly.
The service was good, friendly smile and polite, but the food was on par. Most of the ingredients I would say were not fresh but frozen. The price and serving size were below average, I've had much better & bigger burgers for similar prices else where.
The atmosphere here is dead, nothing tmbut the sound of the extraction fan and freezer clicking on and off. No music playing, no joyful banter, nothing. While three doors down the street are alive with laughter and a positive vibe.
The front of the store is used for drink storage, which is untidy and clutter.
The outdoor seating also wasn't put out, which is another letdown, and I would guess that it also puts off customers from coming in.
The best thing about this place is that it's open quite late for food...

🍔 Sideshow Burger 🍗 Ringmaster, Bacon 🧇 Waffle Fries 🧅 Onion Rings 🧀 Mac n Cheese Croquettes 🥤 Oreo Supershake, Peanut Supershake
Sideshow Burgers is an Australian owned, American-style burger shop with a whopping 13 (soon 14) stores now open within Victoria. The owners are hospo pros, working previously at @ariarestaurant and @danoi95. 🇺🇸
The Sideshow burger features Angus beef pattie, cheese, lettuce, pickle, mustard, kewpie mayo, ketchup and grilled onions. Overall this was pretty good! All the flavours were banger but we did find the pattie itself underseasoned. We did love the choice of buns for their burgers! 🍔
The Ringmaster burger features Southern fried chicken, secret sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickle and grilled onions (plus we added bacon). This was also good, however there wasn’t much southern fried about the chicken. No crunch, no spice, more of a grilled fillet. I don’t hate that, so I still really enjoyed it (although misses the brief). 🍗
As for sides, you can’t go wrong with some classic waffle fries and onion rings. The mac and cheese croquettes you can skip, too dry and bland. We also tried two of the Supershakes, Oreo and Peanut. They add milkshake toppings to them which overtake the flavours of the shake which weren’t prominent enough for me. 🥤
The set up was good but could use some music to give it a bit of a vibe whilst dining. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the burgers and glad they weren’t some over-the-top monstrosity’s. With some slight improvements, it could be...
Read moreI ordered from Sideshow Burgers Seddon through Menulog and the order didn't arrive. There was no notification from the restaurant to say that there was a problem. What is concerning is that the app indicated that a driver picked up the meal and then the tracking immediately stopped. When it got to the estimated delivery time the app notified that it was delivered. I rang the restaurant and the guy on the phone apologised , said they were busy and there were no drivers. He also wasn't being very clear about where my order was or if it was ever going to arrive. After 1.5hrs I ended up chatting to Menulog to get a refund. Menulog will offer a voucher in credit but will do a monetary refund (in 10 days) if you ask. Having the app say the order was picked up by a driver and delivered while the person on the phone says something different? Make of that what you will. It's one thing to accept an order and take the money. It's another thing to not fulfil the order and not let the customer know that you can't fulfil it. This experience means I'll never recommend or order from...
