Sourdough Kitchen Seddon — Restaurant in Melbourne

Used to be really great, but has gone downhill under the new owners. Quality of the ingredients has dropped, I got an olive loaf and it was clear they'd used the cheapest possible olives. And the bread itself was pretty lacklustre. Used to be really delicious, and now it's such that I'd rather get a high quality sourdough from the supermarket next door. A great example of how to ruin a business.

EDIT: Apparently nothing has changed? Then perhaps clearing out all of the old staff is what did it? Regardless, not as good as it used to be. I have ordered a few coffees every week for awhile now and each time the staff talk to customers and put the coffee making on hold. I don’t have all day to wait for a coffee. The last straw was today the 2 only staff in the shop was talking atleast 5 minutes together after I ordered and I was wondering am I invisible. So rude, can’t you talk and make coffee at the same time or wait to the customer leaves. I was the only customer in the shop this time. Won’t be going back again, there are so many lovely cafes in the area and yarraville that give exceptional service. Yes your coffee and cakes was good but little respect to your customers please. Bit devo- I used to LOVE this place so much. I genuinely thought they had the best sausage rolls in Melbourne, flakey buttery pastry and rich tasty homely filling…. Unfortunately standards here have really slipped. I ordered one last week and the pastry was like… cardboard paper. Not flakey and buttery like it used to be.

I also bought a cookie 🍪 which wasn’t very nice. A bit floury and overly sweet. Just not a very nice recipe.

I really hope they’re not heating up yesterday’s stock to save a bit of coin. It’s a real shame the standards have slipped as it was my local go-to.
