My fiancé and I came in this morning to have breakfast with 2 other friends who were visiting us from Brisbane. We live in Seddon and were excited to take our friends out for a local breakfast. Wow! What a disappointment.. I was embarrassed that service could be possibly this bad. Firstly we arrived at the front door only to be looked at by the two people making coffee. There was no welcome or even an acknowledging smile. There were vacant tables available but they still had plates and cups on them. After standing at the door which felt like for over 5-10 mins I asked the guy making the coffees can we have a table of four. He replied yes in a very kind friendly way to his credit. Yet, he continued on with the coffees and we stood another 10 mins until he cleared the table so we could sit. We then sat and ordered coffees. We waited about another 20 mins for the coffees to come. No one came to take our order, I had to get up and ask to be served. By the time the waiter came to take our order it had already been 45 to an hour since the moment we first got to the cafe. We didn’t have time to eat breakfast anymore. So I told him not to worry. In the end my friends from Brisbane got dropped off to the airport with no food as we wasted our morning waiting on this cafes poor service. I don’t understand why cafes are so understaffed. Especially on a Sunday. I’ll never come back to this cafe and I certainly won’t be suggesting it. Such a shame considering I live 200 meters from the cafe. On the plus side the coffee was good but still not worth the 45 min...
Read moreI wish I could call myself a Little Man regular, but sadly I live South side. Having said that, this cute cafe in Seddon, is one of the best in the West, and I have to say it is always an excellent experience when I visit. The cafe has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and it feels like you are right at home. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and they made sure that we were comfortable throughout our visits.
The food at Little Man cafe is excellent. They may have a small selection of dishes, however each of the ones we have tried were delicious. The coffee is also top-notch, get yourself a cold brew if you visit during Summer and you'll thank me later.
One of the things that I loved about Little Man cafe is that it is a local business. The owners are passionate about their cafe and are always looking for ways to improve the customer experience. I appreciate the effort they put into supporting local suppliers and sourcing quality ingredients.
In summary, Little Man cafe is an excellent place to visit if you're looking for a cozy and welcoming cafe that serves delicious food and coffee. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and the food is top-notch. The fact that they are a local business, and they use locally sourced ingredients, is just an added bonus. I highly recommend Little Man to anyone looking for a great cafe experience in the west suburbs...
Read moreAfter getting 2 x pork BBQ rolls ($13) from Waldies Bakery (also on Victoria St), my partner and I came to The Little Man to get 2 x cold brews. Each cup contained an enormous ice cube and exactly 100mL of coffee (it was measured with a beaker) for $6 each.
I asked the person who gave it to me whether this was correct as it was actually cheaper to buy imported whisky at the price they were charging for the coffee. I was informed that it was brewed for 18 hours (which is pretty standard) from high quality beans (which shouldn't be a selling point). I was told to taste it so I can understand why they were charging what they were charging, and I did, and it definitely did taste like cold coffee.
The imported Japanese whisky I purchased duty free takes 12 years to distill and costs about $80 so I can only imagine the cost if this coffee was brewed for any longer than 18 hours.
Stick to Common Galaxia about 50m up the road - cheaper ($4.5) and you get over twice as much (i.e. an actual cup of...
