Ok well this place is like a proper hidden gem who would have thought of the main drag in Seddon would be such a proper little pub. now got to take this in contaxt, we went there for a midweek lunch and we were the only people in the beer garden which is perfect , but then what we had is some locals come in who were convinced that I was someone that was a good expert on high school reunions which in itself was very random thing to associate me with but I got chatting with this chap and it was quite good but when it was pretty clear that our food it arrived and me and my friends were looking to just have our in little you know eating experience and it was lovely the cheeseburger was spot on like properly spot on and the steak sandwiches that mates had was like really really good as well like once we were talking into food this you know this this person who was interested in my high school reunion expertise kept on interjecting which it happens you're in a beer garden midweek but it was one of these things where it would have been good if we could have just like had kept ourselves but you know it's inner west in a city. it's fine. it's all good, but that doesn't detract from the pub itself so I'd like to say the Mona Castle hotel is spot on, would recommend it and it looks like a great place to watch the footy in winter when it gets a bit colder and the pints were quite good value as well so well done team be definitely coming back at...

➖ Chicken Parma - a very classic, simple parma. Chips were cold, salad could be improved. ✔️ Roast Lamb Shoulder - incredibly tender, flavoursome and a delicious gravy. Vegetables were cold. ✔️ Mussels, Tomato, Coconut Broth - biggest mussels i’ve seen! Amazing broth, mopped up with some slices of sourdough. ✔️ Chips, Chicken Salt - I didn’t really taste the chicken salt but these chips were hot crispy!
Happy Hour: 4-6PM weeknights, with $5 pots and $9 selected wines. Monday: Chicken/Eggplant Schnitz/Parma Night $20 Wednesday: Steak Night 250g $23 Thursday: Locals Night, Drink Specials, Veg/Meat Raffles Sunday: Rotating Market Cuts Roast $28
We visited for Mother’s Day dinner, and we were all satisfied with our meals. Its a comfortable and inviting space and the service is quick and friendly. Great spot to come watch sports too. Would revisit!...
Read moreSaturday night dinner for 6. Atmosphere is lovely here with lots of people in both the dining and bar area. We sat in a back booth area in the dining room that is obviously a forgotten table by staff. The dining room is table service. We were given menus on arrival and then weren’t asked to order drinks for about another 20 minutes, and food another 10 minutes after that. The staff didn’t come back to us at any point for drinks without us calling out to them or asking at the bar for them to come and take our orders - lots of lost money for the venue as we probably would have had another 3 or 4 rounds between the 6 of us. Our finished plates were left on the table after eating for an hour, with one plate left until we left. Food is pricey, but nice. Our table of 6 had 2 chicken parmas, bangers & mash, steak, burger and a special of lamb cutlets which we all enjoyed. We all agreed that due to the poor service, we probably won’t be back or recommend the...
