The cocktails, priced at a princely sum of $20, were a symphony of disappointment. One might expect a harmonious blend of nuanced flavors and the subtle caress of spirits; alas, what I encountered resembled more of a tragic melody, each note a jarring reminder of the absence of complexity. The elusive taste of alcohol played hide-and-seek with my senses, leaving me yearning for a sip of something more stimulatingâperhaps a lukewarm cup of tea.
Watered down is an understatement; it was as if the bartender, in a feat of Olympic-level dilution, had managed to transform premium spirits into a tepid rendition of the tap variety. The result? Libations as lackluster as a Monday morning meeting.
Feeling as though I had unwittingly participated in a white-collar heist, the sentiment of being economically hoodwinked lingered longer than the underwhelming aftertaste of the drinks. I couldn't help but wonder if Twelve Dollar Tuesdays was a clandestine recommendation for the standard pricing, given the apparent devaluation of the beverage experience.
In this grand farce of mixological prowess, where cocktails reign supreme in both audacity and inadequacy, there was a lone beacon of redemptionâthe Arancini ball. Nestled in a sea of liquid disappointments, this humble morsel managed to escape the doldrums and delivered a commendable performance, a flavorful ballet pirouetting on the tongue.
In conclusion, The Carnegie Commons is a testament to the audacious marriage of grandeur and underachievement. Should you decide to venture into this enigmatic realm, consider sticking to Twelve Dollar Tuesdays, for any other day might feel like a monetary malfeasance masquerading as mixology. The Arancini ball, however, stands as a defiant reminder that even in the midst of mediocrity, there's room for an unexpected encore. Cheers to culinary redemption, albeit in...
Read moreCame in on a date and ordered two cocktails. It took half an hour for the first to come.
Customers who ordered after me got their order first.
I think the second cocktail I ordered was given to the wrong table, so I went to the bar to ask if they had forgotten the order.
The bartender who took the order was unaware that we had not received the second of our drinks.
The drink finally arrived five minutes later with no acknowledgement of the 45 minute wait.
To make things worse, the second cocktail was not presented with the flaming top that the other table who ordered the same cocktail had.
Pathetic customer service. Paying $20+ for a drink you would expect better.
Very disappointed. This place used to have lovely staff, but after this experience, I will...
Read moreOrdered two cocktails and waited 30 minutes for the first to arrive whilst watching other customers who ordered after us receive their drinks first.
The second cocktail ordered was given to the wrong table so my partner went to the bar to ask where the second cocktail was.
The bartender who had taken the order acted surprised and said she was onto it. The drink then came after a further five minutes. No apology or explanation for the 45 minute wait was given.
The second cocktail also did not have the presentation with the flaming top that the other cocktails had.
Pathetic customer service, wouldâve expected an apology for the clear oversight, especially when paying at least 20 dollars for a drink.
Very...
