The Greek Grill Eatery Altona — Restaurant in Melbourne

As being a lover of Greek style meals both my wife and myself have been frequenting the Greek Grill in Altona for quite some years and have never been disappointed, but sadly over the last 6 months or so the standard is rather becoming disappointing to say the least.

A couple of weeks ago my wife came inside approx 5pm Saturday afternoon to order 2 x Lamb Gyros Plate’s as a takeaway order, we often either have lamb or chicken, but requested rice instead of salad on both of them which the staff member said no problems and was very pleasant. Both meals were handed over and drove home, it was only then we noticed instead of rice the whole rear of the takeaway container was filled with Tzatziki dip for one of the meals and the other no rice to speak of either.

To make matters worse was the lamb was both overcooked, dry with no flavour, this has been noticeable over the last few months of coming to buy take-away meals.

My wife called the shop to voice her concerns at the standard of our meals, and was met with attitude saying we are really busy and swamped with customers – next time you come we will give you a $8 dollar credit, with this she hung up on my wife!. We do accept there could have been a number of online orders at the time, there was only one other customer in the shop waiting at that time, the fact is we are customers of your establishment so we feel this should matter.

Overall, the seafood is fresh, and I ordered the *Daily catch *was really nice and the grilled fish fillet were very crispy from the surface. This set meal really good for sharing, it came with alot of fries and healthy salad. We definitely want to go back again and again for now😉

1st~At the first time, my hb wanted to try out some restaurant nearby our house and then we found the Greek grill eatery. We ordered seafood paella, chicken and lamb kebabs for only 2 of us. We ended up overloaded, leftover some fries and rice.*nextime we would prefer to take away the balance * Too much of calamari as you can see from the photos. 😀 Kebabs was good but my hubby preferred fully cook texture (well done). Anyway for me I'm fine with it. Service is fast. Keep it up! Thanks for the good foods👍

From the 3rd visit, food was not as good as previous. I'm not sure how, but overall I'm still ok with it. But my husband totally cannot tolerate with the fish smell. Sauce is not enough for the portion so I need to purchase extra sauce...

This is a tale of the lack of service from UberEats and what a wonderful restaurant this place is. We ordered two Souvlaki's and chips from here, however the UberEats driver took the long route and then called me to say that he had delivered the food to the wrong address and was going back to get it. So I told him to take it back to Greek Grill. I then called Greek Grill and informed them of what happened. They apologised even though it wasn't their fault and then replaced the order getting their staff to deliver it to us. It was at our place within 20 minutes. Great friendly, understanding staff and service.

Then we had our dinner. It was one of the most delicious souvlaki's which I have ever eaten. The meat was delicate and perfectly seasoned, with a good amount of salad inside a clearly home made pita bread. The chips were crisp although we thought ordering the large would be appropriate, it was appropriate for about 5 more people.
