Club Altona — Restaurant in Melbourne

Updated from post 2 years ago. I felt it necessary to update this review. Been back a few times recently and have to say the prices for food have gone up and quality, selection and portions have gone down. Disappointing really as was hoping that they were trying a few things but looks like they have stuck with the format. Noticed a Wednesday night was a lot quieter and others I spoke to expressed their disappointment with the food. $25 for most main meals, problem is the quality is not even close to the other dinner options in Altona. For me, it's an option for a drink but won't bother with food anymore, which makes it less likely for a drink thinking about it...

Great prices, decent beer selection and great value for money on all the food. Pick your nights for the real good specials and activities such as members draw. Another review of my favourite sport a sport that was referred as a old man's sport which is such a false description of the sport which unfortunately is partially the blame of the people who run it but it's changing and hopefully will make the public's perception change. The best bowlers who represent their state and country are funny enough very young. Unfortunately again their choice of sport doesn't pay at all which the good players have to get jobs to allow them to live and support their families. Back to the Altona bowl's club one with a rich history and a place that you can have a great introduction to bowl's and enjoy a drink and a meal without the yahoo's that frequent most places. Ribs, Ribs, Ribs on the menu, the best. Go for the full rack. Half to fill the hunger, the other half to savour. Delectable, fall off the bone, finger-lickin' good. Barramundi was great too.
