Worst service EVER.. So I look up pizza delivery near me through a google search and I get the results displayed alongside their location on google maps. When I clicked on the Pizza Box, a pop up window with their details appeared as is usual with a google search. Just below their name are the usual buttons "website" "directions" "call" etc. But just below that there are speed buttons to order takeaway or delivery. I pressed the delivery button and struggled through a cumbersome interface to order and PAY for my pizza. Once successfully ordered i received a message to say my order was being. processed. 40 minutes passed and I thought I would check. I found an email in my inbox to say that my order was somehow "unsuccessfully placed". So I rang the shop for clarification. I spoke to the manager, Simon. He was extremely curt and repeatedly stated that he has been aware of the problem for over a year. So somehow this has become MY problem. However his only proposal to rectify the situation, and to possibly restore my faith in his shop, was for me to order again through their website. It didn't occur to him that he might want to take my order while i was on the phone. Thats the level of customer service of this shop. I now have to wait for another order to be delivered from a better shop but i have to wait "maybe a day or so" for a refund. No Pizza, No Service, No repeat business from me.
EDIT: so I just received a reply that again intimates that I am at fault for ordering thru a portal endorsed by their name. Further and more importantly they say I should call next time to order. So I have just one question: if you have had numerous problems which you are obviously aware of and your solution is to tell your customer to call the shop to order, why didn’t you ask to take my order...

Since a change of owners, The Pizza Box Altona has improved considerably. They're no longer likely to run out of things, the staff is much happier, friendlier, and always up for a laugh. The new owners have vision, ambition, drive, consideration, and manners. They have since I first wrote this review refurbished the store with much newer, cleaner, and appealing design. The menu has been cleaned up and decluttered, although a couple of my favorites are now missing from the menu unfortunately, but they werent big sellers, so that's understandable. The previous owner had extremely poor people skills, was often rude, condescending, offensive, arrogant, a bully and just generally a poor businessman. To the point of even threatening to "bash me" in an attempt to force me to take down this review, because of it's honesty. I'd like to note that whilst the food has also improved, unfortunately the pizza's are currently inconsistent, based both on personal experience, and from the reviews. The earlier you order, the better your pizza will be most likely. Personally, I do feel prices for Pizza's have gotten a little high for what you're ourchasing in recent times, but this applies to most of the take-out and restaurant industry. Almost $15 though, is too much, especially as they're not that expensive to make in my experience. Fortunately, with new owners don't take stock from this shop to supply others, like the previous owner did, and they're quick to try and find ways to improve, rather than dismissing any concerns raised. I believe that with time, and with continued local support, The Pizza Box will become the staple pizza place for families...
Read moreThey claim to be unpretentious, according to their Menulog page after perusing for 2 minutes all I seen was a pizza shop trying to be someone they are not. Who am I to judge but a lonely pizza lover. Attempt I shall, the feat of the new and ever so popular pizza eatery. Little did I know that 4 hours after eating my extremely crispy (burnt) pepperoni pizza I found myself unmoving upon the porcelain thrown. Thanks for the memories certainly won't forget you for a very long long time! Terrible absolute rubbish..... unpretentious haha...
