I would like to rate it higher but it just wasn’t what I expected or the old Jolly Miller standard I’ve enjoyed over the years. I’m really not a fan of the new QR table code systems across the franchise. It’s like go sit in the corner, be on your phone and then leave. Then it asks for a tip when you pay. I know it’s not required, but you’ve just taken away the extra service side of it and now want a tip for it? Before we’ve even had anything? The food was also pretty average. Both avocado dishes were blacked and dry, the tomato was tiny and the Salmon was quite unappealing. The coffee was good though! The Barista absolutely nailed that and it’s still one of the best coffees I’ve had in a while. The brief staff interactions we had were alright. But overall I can pretty safely say that’s the last time I’ll be dining at any JM cafe.

This is a fab place to dine. The cafè feels spacious and welcoming, and natural light floods in through a vast wall of windows that runs down one side of the cafè. Seating is a combination of regular tables and chairs as well as booths. The staff were pleasant, attentive and well turned out. The menu is substantial and varied, with plenty of choice no matter your dietary requirements. Portion sizes are good and definitely value for money. The food I had (vegetable bruschetta) was cooked to perfection and choc full of flavour. It was good to see hot chips that weren't yellow or in shoestring form. Nice to know some cafès take hot chips seriously. The Flat White coffee I had was smooth and had a gentle flavour to it. Do dine here if you're in the area. It's a great dining experience.

Love going to this cafe for a beautiful lunch and or brunch and it never disappoints with the immaculate service from everyone there along with the creamy amazing coffee! You can tell they take pride in their food and enjoy their work! Getting the simple scrambled eggs on sourdough bread with a side of smoked salmon is always good! Creamy eggs that are tolerable to eat and not stringy! Second time getting it and always consistent with their food! Have to put their coffee on a pedestal because I make coffee for work too and have NEVER been able to froth soy milk to such creaminess! Cudos to the barista because that’s a skill! I’ll only say that the crying. Screaming. Kids in the cafe does not help if I’m trying to hold conversation but other than that, beautiful place to go to!

Absolutely disgusting customer service from the manger. Will never return.

We went for breakfast as a group of 4. 3 out of our 4 meals were wrong. Our waiter read all our orders back to us confirming he had taken them all down correctly. Our child’s ricotta pancakes came with food packaging cooked inside the pancakes. After showing the wait staff they took them away. After 5 minutes had passed the manger came and said sorry and asked if we wanted another serving. We honestly assumed this was already happening. So we now had a very hungry child that had to wait even longer for his meal. We asked for no halloumi in our burger. It came with halloumi. We sent it back and waited an additional 10 minutes for a replacement. We asked for relish with our big breakfast. It came without relish. So we notified the wait staff and asked that we do not be charged for it as we ate it without. After so many things going wrong we expected some form of compensation, whether it be a discounted meal or a voucher. Instead we got charged for the relish (as it couldn’t be taken off apparently) and charged full price for all meals, along with a weekend surcharge and a credit card surcharge and given $2.50 back in cash for the relish even though we got charged surcharges ontop of this. Will...

My wife and I eat at many cafes and always leave honest opinions. When we arrived we instantly felt unwelcome, not sure why, maybe the waitress/manager was in a bad mood. We sat down and ordered drinks but again felt she was angry with us. We ordered coffees and one was wrong but we said nothing because we just wanted a relaxing simple breakfast. I tried to order a simple bacon and egg roll but it seemed to be a big deal because it was not on the menu. After a complicated discussion about a simple bacon and egg roll the waitress said she understood but what arrived was something off the menu but with added expensive extras. Again, I could not be bothered to say anything because I just want a relaxed morning. When I paid they had charged me $21.50 for something I did not order, which wasn't a bacon and egg roll but we left disappointed and ripped off with no intention of ever returning. I really don't understand why The Jolly Miller Altona North cafe cannot do a simple dish but I figured that this cafe does not care about what you want and insists on you having what they want so they can charge you a fortune for it. They need to learn how to be nice...

I was always happy to dine in, food, service, coffee were very good, i would always bring my friends with me, recommending, and they would enjoy it as well. Only on my last visit there I was disappointed with service with one particular waiter. He placed my son order on he's lap, not on the table (as my son had something on the table infront of him) but still waiter could just place it on the table in different place. While he was still putting rest of our orders on the table something fell on my son lap from the table and tipped basket with he's food, nearly all food fell on the ground, spread all over the floor, waiter only looked, made a face and just walked away. I looked after him what will he do next, clean up, offer us replacement dish, but No, nothing happened, he just walked away continued he's other chores not even bothering to bring the broom and clean up, or ask someone else to do it, we cleaned up! When anything even remotely similar happened in other restaurants I've been in, waiters would imidietly clean up, always telling me not to touch or to worry, they'll do it, and offer...
