Bar is clean, and the atmosphere is good. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food, however, let's them down. I ordered buffalo chicken wings (with Franks), cheesy bread, and a southern style chicken burger; the special for the night. The wings, whilst flavoursome, were baked, not fried, and were dry. They did not have sauce dripping from them. The cheesy bread was well presented but was a bit flavourless. Some herbs, even basic spices, would enhance it tenfold, and the bread was overcooked bordering on burnt. The burger - oh jeez, such a disappointment. It looked good when presented, even with the cheese spilling out, and the chips were piping hor. Sadly, that is where the good things end. The brioche bun was burnt and had the texture of cardboard. The chicken 'burger' was not hand made, and tasted so. It felt worse as it was dry. The cheese didn't melt, and that was probably because the burger was cold. Lastly, adding pickled red onion to the burger didn't enhance it. To do so, the onion had to have at least tasted pickled. Suggest the King Hotel have a chat with the chef, and if the chef can not cook basic food from scratch and basic food that is tasty, perhaps the chef should seek alternative employment.

🍽️ The King Hotel, Melbourne – A Welcoming Local Favourite and a Great Stop During our 11-night stay in Melbourne, we had our very first dinner at The King Hotel—and it quickly became a regular spot for us. Located conveniently right next door to the Meriton Suites where we were staying, it was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a good meal. From the start, the staff were absolutely lovely—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was consistently good, with generous portions and great value. I must have popped in a few too many times, because the barmaid greeted me with a cheerful “Hi, good to see you back!”—a small moment that made me feel right at home. The pub has a charming old-style atmosphere, complete with a striking copper vat that adds character and warmth to the space. Whether you’re after a casual drink, a hearty meal, or just a friendly vibe, The King Hotel delivers. A great stop for anyone staying nearby—or even just passing through. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like a local.

I love coming here whenever I’m in Melbourne. The food is always next level and the atmosphere in the earlier hours is noisy without being loud (I can’t say for the later hours as I’m always gone by 6:30). The staff have always been nothing but accommodating and warm. The salmon is the best I’ve ever had - crispy skin and seasoned well without being dry… the menu is a nice mix of pub grub and something a little special. I’ve never been disappointed! Three meals this week, I think I’m going to have to do some 5k runs next week to compensate 😊

If you are seeking the pinnacle of culinary excellence and entertainment, look no further than this extraordinary establishment. As an aficionado of both fine dining and immersive sporting experiences, I must assert that this place defies expectations in the most delightful manner.

First, the chicken parma. Oh, where do I begin? It is nothing short of gastronomical brilliance. Each bite is meticulously crafted, with flavors so harmonious and refined that one might imagine the chefs as culinary alchemists, transmuting basic ingredients into edible gold. The menu is an eclectic blend of the traditional and the innovative, a symphony of taste designed to satiate both the most discerning palates and those seeking a delightful indulgence.

The drink selection is, quite frankly, a revelation. I had the distinct pleasure of sampling one of their offerings during happy hour, and it was an absolute revelation. The balance of flavors, the precision with which it was concocted, and there was a harmonious synchrony akin to the precision of a well-calculated scientific experiment. In short, it was spectacular.

And then, of course, there’s the entertainment. The atmosphere here is electric, brimming with an intensity that only a live AFL or cricket match can bring. It is not merely a venue for viewing sports; it is an arena where you are drawn into the action, transported into a realm where every pass, every wicket, every goal is felt viscerally. The screen is perfectly positioned, the sound impeccably calibrated, and the crowd :oh, the crowd!. It is as if you are enveloped in a shared experience, a collective celebration of athletic prowess and the sheer thrill of the game.

To sum it up, king hotel provides the perfect fusion of culinary delight and sporting excitement. I dare say that if you are in search of a place where you can simultaneously savor world-class food, indulge in expertly crafted drinks, and revel in the finest of sporting spectacles, you need not look further. It is, quite...
