Read moreThree of us had dinner at Theio Theo last week. I was really looking forward to it as it gets reviews and was convenient being close to work. We were all underwhelmed. It was 'meh' at best. We shared the dips plate and grilled octopus. The dips were fine - nothing special, but fine. Served with white bread - not pita. Strange. The octopus and tough, but grilled and somewhat tasty. We all had grilled cod for dinner. Servings were generous but it served with no sides. Just some fish on the plate. I received 2 tails! What? Lots of that brown flesh that becomes more prominent and less tasty. We shared 2 salads. The rocket salad was just not fresh. It was about 50% yellowed leaves and starting to go 'gummy.' like what happens when the leaves start to go off. And it was overdressed. But really - using fresh salad is essential, and it just wasn't fresh at all. We barely touched it. The other side I can't remember other than we each had a small taste and left the rest. We were still sitting there talking - it was a work dinner - and they came and took our water carafe away (as if to say, off you go). So there we sat talking, no water, table cleared. Weird. We'd have loved some more water. We had one glass of wine each, no coffee, no dessert. The bill came to $210. A lot of money for an average to poor dinner. We all were surprised at how average it was. Won't be going back or recommending it.
Just replying to the owners reply: Actually, I've just double checked your menu. It's call blue eye fillet - which on googling confirms a kind of cod -which is why we ordered it and confirmed it. Agree that you can order pita bread - which we overlooked and could have paid extra for. The salad was not fresh. At all. Yellow leaves and all. And yup, it says no sides on the mains. No quibble there. Just that at $32.50 for the fish, would have expected something other than 2 tails. And I stand by that at $210, it just wasn't good value, and we'll try someplace...
Read moreNot the greatest of experiences. Wrong food delivered to out our table. Prices seem reasonable until the meals come out. Servings on the small . Was recommended by friends as they have recently opened. Won’t be returning as found the whole experience to be cold and no atmosphere . Where is the old George !!! Never had a bad meal Or experience when he had this place . Restaurant has gone modern but the issue we had was the food was bland in most parts. There were entrees that were ok such as the stuffed mushrooms. Then when we were served a minicule serving of overcooked blue eye fillet it ruined the night.
Side note to the managers response: if you can't handle criticism then I suggest you take your listing of Google. I have posted a number of reviews on various restaurants with different ratings. If you don't like my review then I suggest you improve the quality of food you delivered. I was invited to eat at your restaurant as I was an old customer at Jims tavern , therefore more attention should have been taken with what food was presented. Stella I was sitting on Peter's table and there was a group of 10. I told you on the night I wasn't happy and that I would be writing a review. When you're quoting Google policy you should also look at the policy that gets you to ask your Facebook friend Kelsey mcDonald to write a 5 star review on your Restaraurant. I noticed she wrote a review 5 minutes after...
