Treviso Bar & Dining — Restaurant in Melbourne

Went here for lunch for a special occasion and was told by wait staff that it was unusually busy for a Thursday afternoon, (thankfully we had a booking) Although quite noisy inside it still had a nice atmosphere and felt cosy. The staff were very friendly and attentive also. We were told after a few minutes of being seated that there was a “kitchen situation” which meant that the pasta’s and risotto would take much longer than usual to come out, due to it being quite busy. So I ordered the rib eye to be cooked medium to well done and my husband had the saltimbocca which he was very happy with . Unfortunately The rib eye was cooked really well done and heavily salted to the point that there was a piece of steak which I put in my mouth and had to spit out because there was a lump of salt on it, very unpleasant . Also for the price of both mains we expected there to be more sides on the plate and more mushroom sauce (there were only two very small carrots on mine and a couple of dry mushrooms and nothing else). Went to Treviso 2 days in a row! First day was a work lunch with a colleague and the second day, I took my 83 year old Mum.

Both days I noticed the warm welcome at the front door. The restaurant is in a basement and it was refreshing to have the door opened with a welcoming smile.

We had the scallops 2 days in a row. I had the ragu lamb pasta and my colleague had risotto. Second day we shared some bruschetta and then I had the seafood linguine and my Mum had the crab pasta.

The food is sold - fresh, simple, and portions are the perfect size., Wine list is more than adequate.

Its a noisy, bustling place at lunch but this is a well oiled machine when it comes to its people and the service standard is what gives...

I was late at a function although per-ordered my food. When I got there, naturally the food was cold and as I was late; I simply requested that to be re heated (microwave or whatever they used) but I got a response............ a very very bad one ...........

You reordered your food We are too busy to reheat your food If we do that for you, next we know is every one is asking for reheat!

I could not believe the bitchiness that women had in her! The quality of the food was absolute rubbish, every one on the table had cold food (be it pizza, pasta or sandwich!)

More disappointing was the service and attitude.

If we keep going to such places, they keep providing service we do not need. DO NOT EVER GO TO...
