I came across this venue by chance by a Facebook suggestion and boy I am glad. I love mexican but find the local area lacks in this area for kid friendly venues. I enjoy fresh flavours and well presented mexican food, as opposed to slop on a plate, that often leaves you feeling sluggish afterwards.
We dined 4.30pm on a Saturday and were immediately welcomed and sat in the warm heated courtyard. Staff were happy to strike up conversation with us and our children. Our daughter especially loves the social attention from people. We were offered crayons immediately for the kids and asked if we wanted to order the kids meal straight away. We ordered beef tacos from the kids menu for the kids. They keep it simple for the little ones taste buds and my avocado loving kids demolished them.
I had a difficult decision deciding myself what to order. There are so many appealing options but I opted to share the Chilaquiles (Nachos with all the trimmings) with the table and order a serving of Pollo Con Salsa Verde Tacos. Both dishes were flavourful and appealing. My husband ordered La Feria Enchiladas, which were served with sourcream, rice and beans and equally was delicious. As it was a special occasion, my in-laws dined with us and they’re not food explorers, but they were easily able to make a decision on what to order. They ordered Del Jardin (Seasonal Vegetables) Tostada and Queso Y Chorizo Quesadillas. Everyone was impressed with their meals.
My sons favourite part of meal time arrived soon after and we ordered him kids ice cream served with caramel sauce. We ordered two servings of their special recipe Churros to share. They were served with dipping sauces. Our favourite sauce was their dulce de leche sauce. I could have just eaten a whole bowlful with a spoon.
The atmosphere and the staff were most welcoming and we will return to try more of their delicious dishes. Their servings on some dishes allow you to try multiple dishes without over ordering, but we will try their feast options next time. Their Los Amigos options offer you a mix of the menu at a great...
Read moreLove this brunch place just outside the main shopping area of Cheltenham. I do not normally like having brunch due to the cost and the sometimes over oiliness of the dishes but this place is an exception. I felt that everything was perfectly priced and delicious without having that oily aftertaste. Loved the chicken and waffles (though it came out burnt the first time) they were super friendly to replace it. The maple syrup was not too sweet and balanced well with the saltiness of the chicken and bacon. A well balanced fulfilling dish. I also got an omelette dish which was smooth and buttery. The iced coffee was great as well. Overall will definately return.
Returned! Excellent service again. Ordered via app this time which worked well. Ordered: Bob's Big Breaky ($23.00) - Came with potato rosti, chorizo and two eggs on sourdough toast with grilled tomato mushrooms and bacons. Exactly what you would expect from a great big breakfast. Everything cooked perfected however unlike my previous experience I felt that it was a tad bit oily. I think a bit of spinach would have cut through the oil. Buttermilk Fried Chicken Waffles ($19.00) - ordered this dish again. Came out exactly right the first time time. The chicken was juicy with a crispy exterior. The maple sauce pairing created a well balanced dish. Nutellachina ($4.80) - did not think that this would work but was actually pretty nice. Smooth coffee with a nutty chocolaty nutella aftertaste. Came with a small simple cookie...
Read moreI have come here many times with my dog and really enjoyed the food and service. I’ve always sat in the back undercover outdoor area. Today I bought my grandma for her bday and my dog, and was told my dog is too big (a medium groodle) to go out the back. I explained that I have been in that area with her many times before and that is why I’ve came back. Although they offered me a table on the street outside, i explained it was too cold and windy for my grandma. Although I expressed my disappointment with also no one sitting out the back at the time, I was still turned down. Couldn’t even sit in the back corner outside. Very disappointing for a place I used to recommend.
EDIT Response to Owner:
On the day, I was told that my dog was TOO BIG, suggesting that if she was smaller then we could have sat in the courtyard. If there was a legitimate reason (like food safety changes) then why wasn't that stated at the time? I would be completely understanding of this. Instead, the staff just wanted to get rid of me, my dog and grandma on her birthday.
I’ve personally eaten outside there with my dog on multiple occasions with no issues. I’ve always enjoyed supporting your venue and brought friends along (human and furry).
Anyway, thanks again for the chatGPT form letter. I’ll be sure to share your new rules with my dog, she’s devastated she won’t get to sniff a two bob SLOB...
